Straight from the Bat Cave Skunk works division ... I made these replacement mats about a month ago. This raised disc material can be bought buy the linear foot. The roll width is 3 ft. A 36" x 36" will make two nice mats. I got the material from Mcmaster -Carr http://www.mcmaster.com/#70035t811/=pxx5s

You can use the factory mats as a template. This mat is 1/8 thick. I found it best to cut with a razor knife against a straight edge. It's a very simple and straightforward project. I would offer these tips. When making the drivers side do not layout the offsets for the Dead Pedal. Just cut it straight to match the rest of that side. I would also cut the new pieces about a 1/8" larger on each side. This will insure a nice tight fit.

I have found two nice advantages to these mats. 1) They are about half the weight as the stock mats. 2) Not having the raised rubber section makes a more natural foot position. Before I had to angle my feet to hit the pedals, now they are more vertical which feels more natural for me..

Sweet is the material expensive? How about for Noise inside the car also?

The Noise level seems the same.. Tested today at over 200 MPH .. :biggrin The link shows the price. The 3' X 3' piece was. $ 47.37 . The total including shipping was $ 54.37. to my house.

cool batman! how do you think the surface will be if wet? can't really tell from the pics, are they very glossy or matte? wondering about slickness? your thoughts?

It's sold as a tread way material so it may not be as slick as it looks. It would probably be a little slick of it got real wet i.e. ..puddles..
That being said. The GT is very low to the ground. People who get in and out of my car sit in the seat first than swing their feet in. They get out the same way. The driver does the same so you never really stand on the mat with any weight.. so slipping is not an issue for me.. I think a lot of other GT owners use the same entry /exit method... Who's GT's see the rain anyway ..:biggrin

I have the same material as the floor for my trailers... works very well wet or not... looks good Stormcat!!! :cheers

Very good fit !! I can't believe how sticky and gooey the glue is on the factory mats. I have a couple of sets and they all leak that messy adhesive from the backing. !!

+ 1 :ack

StormCat, perhaps you need different shoes? Looks really good. Without the hump from the OEM mats, carpets will fit better.

Oh, PS, I drive in the rain all the time. Too bad you weren't at Indy for the deluge.
