OK Rally Guys Fess Up For Those Of Us Unable To Make It!!!

In a video posted their was a Saleen pic of a GT Mark II...What are the rumors????

As I understand it, they need 50 orders at about $200K to build.

In that case I'll take two !!!!:biggrin

Pics? Specs? Is it our car with more power and a different hood??? Chris Theodore mentioned at Rally I that our cars could possibly be upgraded to an Mk II.

There were 3 pictures, of two different versions.
It's all speculation at this time, a pipedream.
50 orders would not be a problem at all.

Here ya go, SilverBullitt:

Bullitt, we told Mr. Theodore there was a bank error in your favor and you would bankroll the whole project. He's waiting for your call.

From the conversation that I had with Jamaal ... it would be a project much like a GTX-1 .. not an official product. "just a rebody".

other than that ... its a may be.

Personally, I think a mark II would be cool to rehab wrecked GT's into something ... basically take the wrecked car for the vin and reman. the car on a new mso. Keeps improperly repaired Gts off the street and keeps the fleet constant.

just my two cents.

Steve

The rendering that shows the rear view demonstrates an integrated bumper concept. You will also note the renderings are dated '06.

I noticed the "CS" on the drawings at El Toro. They are also visible in the 2nd and 3rd photos above. Maybe the Mark IIs would be GT's that go to Shelby for a little exterior cosmetic work and a little engine work (like a Shelby Mustang)?

Frank, I though that you big-shot doctors had all the money!

How about a pole? which one do you like the best? I personally prefer the third pic its very retro 1960's mark but the first one would be a world killer ... retro body with a 2000's face.

If Shelby would do it ... I'd buy one ... ok maybe two ... they are like potato chips

Sorry Tim you are wrong Frank has a hard time collecting from HIS patients:ack:banana:banana

I'd have to see it in red first.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't like the renderings. I prefer the stock body.

Of course I wouldn't mind a factory Mark II version with some extra power...

I'm with Chris

Unfortunately, I don't think Ford will be doing a factory mark II in our life time. Unless its a hybrid or an E-85 car.

I just finished reading an article in one of the auto-mags about CAFE and hybrid/e85 standards ... interesting... very interesting.

Maybe we should talk Jamaal into building a e-85 mark II concept car. pitch it as "the pace car for the green economy". man ... I need to test drive a Tesla. If they built an e-85 Mark II Gt I'd buy one and laugh every time I passed a Prius screaming "she burns corn baby ... she burns corn"

Bony ... I think I need one of your manhattans... I've just realized I'm having rally withdrawls too!

I agree too, no way am I changing my GT. A new Mark II would be different, hey, get Tesla to build it, heck Saleen built the GT.

BTW, I have a Tesla on order, stop by for a ride anytime.

When you get it drop me a note and I'll bring down the Elise ... we can compare cars in our own drivers test.
