looking at a 06ford gt...please help

I almost drove away in a brand new ford gt today, but desided to go home and do a little bit of research on the prices of these cars. I went in to talk to friend of mine and have no idea how i got sucked in to the car, but any way the dealer was going to sell me an 06 grey with stripes or white with blue stripes gt for msrp of 166k.

I saw that a couple of guys here picked up theirs for low to mid 150s. Can anyone give me some tips or location for getting one at that price. White or grey would be ok but black with no stripes would be perfect!

Both of those cars were loaded with only around 10miles on them.

Any input will be appriciated.

Sticker is fine for a "new" car, especially if it's close and there won't be any shipping charges from somewhere else. Grab either one or both.

Local dealer and no shipping cost or associated risk it a big deal with me too.

A friend of mine bought a new white/blue stripes 06 for 3500 off MSRP in Houston last week. He drove from South Florida to Houston to pick it up so he had the costs of driving there and back to add to the purchase price. MSRP as a dealer asking price is not unreasonable. Never hurts to make an offer.
My two cents.
 
Start calling that list. My guess is that some are actually sold and some with asking prices so far over MSRP that they won't sell fast.

Particularly the '05's, they are either gone or being kept by owners by now...

But easy to find out with some phone calls.

There are some early '05s on that list that MSRP is $10,000 less than the '06s. Most are probably being driven by the dealer or not for sale though. Doesn't cost much to call.
 
wow thanks guys, ill call that list and see what happends. Im going to try and talk the dealer down 10k from msrp. Isnt the invoice on those cars 137k?

My deal turned out pretty good @ $7,245 off sticker plus the non-Mac panel between the seats. With what I went through on my purchase of my GT , I deserved it too!

My 06 was 166 and I offered 161 we settled on 163. Always make an offer tell him it's your second choice in color so you need a deal. It's all a game, he is spending money to keep it at the dealer too
 
I just bought a loaded 06 black w white stripes with 300miles on it for $146k locally from a private party. I'm very happy as I can not find that color combo anywhere out here. I think that's just over 20k off sticker.

thats funny because my black GT has silver stripes. i did not know that they made black GT's with white stripes. the only GT's that i have ever seen that had white stripes were blue ones and red ones. i assume your car was originally all black or the silver stripes were painted over with white then?

I would buy the new one from the local dealer. Develop a relationship with them. Make sure you get the Window Sticker (Mulroney label) and all the other 'data, paper window stickers, rotation stickers etc' ..see many of the other threads.

.Other item..Black only came with Silver stripes from Saleen and the window sticker would have read under optional equipment...".Painted Racing stripes $5350.00

My mistake.. it does have silver stripes. I have only seen the car 1X when I went to drive it and it is now in storage until I get rid of my CLS as I have no room in the garrage. I did take pictures of it but in the sun the stripes look very much white.

This is what I have researched for invoice pricing:

'06 Invoice Price: $137,546
Painted Stripes: 4,655
Optional Wheels: 3,045
McIntosh: 3,480
Painted Calipers: 653
Destination: 1,250
Gas Guzzler Tax: 2,100

Total: $152,729
