Lincoln MKS Driving Impressions

I had the chance to drive this car to and from work recently. I must say how impressed I am with this car. It is quick (not fast), comfortable (especially the seats), stable and fun to drive. The exterior is a bit plane jane which I dont mind having for a car that would be driving fast most of the time. I also like the fact that at 100 mph you are only turning 2400 rpm.

Anyway, we are doing a few tweaks to this EcoBoost. So I will let you know if we are able to get any more power out of it. I was a bit surprised to find that it only made 265 hp at the wheels on our Dyno Dynamics AWD chassis dyno. That seems like a big driveline loss for a car that is supposed to be making 350 hp at the motor.

All in all Ford / Lincoln built a very nice car. GM could learn a few things from Ford on how to build nice American interiors.

I was a bit surprised to find that it only made 253 hp at the wheels on our Dyno Dynamics AWD chassis dyno. Looking forward to your findings. :thumbsup I think it is related to the new SHO that Torrie and others are in the high 12's low 11's with.

Our cold air induction kit picked up 13 hp at the wheels (peak) and 20 wheel hp in the mid range. So we are now at 278 hp at the wheels. Torrie's tune goes in next. Based on the results he has been getting, it should really pick up.

Ok John, quit messin' around and TT that thing!

:lol:biggrin

Torrie's tune is awesome. We picked up 30 hp at the wheels on our AWD dyno and we are now at 318 wheel hp. The seat of the pants improvement feels like more than 30 whp.

We made a run with our driftbox in the car and got a 0-60 time of 4.8 sec. with 2 heavy guys in the car. Gaining 43 wheel hp with 2 simple bolt-on mods is something that any Ecoboost owner should consider doing.

Thanks for a great product Torrie along with your excellent service and support.

Next up we will be testing some exhaust mods. I will let you know how it turns out.

4.8, not bad at all, especially for a slushbox in a heavy heavy car. Looking forward to more soon!

They come TT from the factory....

John check the pics Torrie has on his pipes....Torrie has been way to quiet on his SHO progress.... wonder what he is upto:biggrin

Yeah and we haven't really started to turn this car up much yet. :biggrin
