Wow that is a beautiful car. What an unbelievable restoration. Those Hi-res pictures are great too.

Having never seen an original in person, I am always struck by how much smaller they are (than ours). Either the driver is a giant or that car appears to be 35% smaller in every dimension.

Wow, that puts it into perspective, That and nearly half the weight.

Is it an allusion in your picture or are our mirrors mounted in different locations on each side? I better go out to the garage and stare at it for a while to find out. :biggrin

Go to your garage and see for yourself - the mirrors are in different places. I didn't notice it either until I took some overhead photos.

I believe the mirrows were in the same place on the pre-production cars like the yellow Nardo.

Looks like the Nardo car has staggered mirrors too. [Bony taking his ride.] NardoGT can weigh in with a definitive answer. :thumbsup

Yes, they are offset. A story I was told, by team members, there was a lot of debate, but was decided that having them actually function as mirrors was more important then being lined up.

All the CP build cars had the same offset mirrors. The right hand mirror was moved back a few inches to make it funtional. Nardo should have the offset mirrors but memory is not what it was. The move is about 2 inches.

I noticed it about one month after buying #1079 when I measured from mirror tip to mirror tip to see for myself just how wide the car was. I hung a plumb bob from the tip of each mirror and made a mark on the floor, and when I ran a tape measure between the two points I noticed the darn tape was not persackly square with the universe! It was then I said to myself, "Whuuuut th'...?
