Two year. What does that mean? Two year contract with CGR? Only planning to race for two years?
 
It means that after 2 years (more likely a year) Ford will have options to renew with CGR, or go a different direction if it doesn't work out. Racing is very "dynamic" and long term contracts are rare (usually year to year). Also options if the car doesn't work out for what ever reason (hopefully not of course, but rules packages can change as well)

If they kill every team the first year...........there will be rule changes.
 
BoP test is at Ladoux in September. They will be racing an "equalized" car from the start. Bummer, but it is what it is.

What is the typical length of a driver's contract? Also, are drivers independent with their own agent or do they belong to a racing team that contracts their services?
 
Chip G., I can tell you from experience does not suffer fools and is a hard task master.

Having represented drivers and teams, if I was starting a team tomorrow, I would look for the following:

1. A winner of one or more races in a top series (winning is hard --experience in running up front and finishing does not come quickly)

2. Someone who can give good feedback during testing. You can have all the PCs in the world but nothing better than driver FB

3.Someone with a solid mechanical background--see 2 above.

4.Someone in good physical shape, and with a huge power of concentration So many lose focus.

5.Someone who treats team, sponsors, owners well. We have fired more than one.

He should hire bondurant
