I Finally Staggered Home

Welcome back! We missed you and your insight.

Joe

It is nice to see that after sampling many fine dishes you decided to return to the hearty and beautiful Ford GT table.

I too had a similar experience in when I bought my first GT, but under different circumstances. On an cold early morning drive in 2013 the rear end stepped out on me and in split seconds the car was gone. I was quite shaken up and decided to go back to the world of traction control. A McLaren arrived shortly after the FGTs burial but it was never a replacement. The GT beckoned and haunted me to return every time I went for a drive and especially every time I met up with my Ford GT friends in Houston. No other car has had the appeal to me and to so many enthusiasts and non enthusiasts alike.

I couldn't stay away long and returned to the car, the community, and the Ford GT experience.

Welcome Back!

welcome back to both of you then !

That's what life is about. We all try to improve things, but sometimes it get's worse before getting better again.

Great that you rejoin the pack.

Welcome back. There is nothing that compares to the feeling of control when driving a totally manual car. I have gotten the same comments on aircraft by the way.

I most recently thought about you wondering what you were up to :thumbsup :lol

Welcome back!

Glad you decided to stagger home! Welcome back!!
Congrats on the soon-to-be TT'd GT. My knees are shaking with anticipation of your review on the TT.

Yes you did! Thanks Ron...its been a great couple of years in the Quick Silver, but I do miss the Blue one. I'll have to tell you a great story about that car next time I see you.

I remember the time I drove up to Simon's house in my blue/white stripe and his kids thought it was his car that had been fixed!

Loved your P1 journey. I was there with you and gave up too...3 months too late. Second place with my 675 LT with roof scoop took some of the sting away. I look at it this way the NFGT and the 675 are worth more to me than the P1. Good luck on your NFGT search [emoji3]

Great to have you back!

I know! I am patiently waiting for the dates....I'll go where ever!

I just need to get vacation time blocked off.Is that information available yet?

I'm also waiting on the Texas Round Up dates...hint hint

Welcome back Mr Mitty. Nobody does car reviews like you.

Ah shucks guys, I feel all warm and tingly by the warm reception. Can't wait to hear that familiar bark when I fire the perfect V8 up and then let it settle back to idle. I shall give a full and very exaggerated report of my experience with the TT once the process is complete.

I was watching the Barrett Jackson circus and lamenting that I missed out on that 1934 Packard 8 that sold on Saturday. My wife asked if, at last, I was going to get into "old" cars; I told her, "sure I am. I just bought an antique Ford GT." :)

For your viewing pleasure, I have attached a full size photo of my avatar; my prior GT at the Salt Flats.
