I bought one of Jeff Gordon's (real not diecast) cup cars (pics included)

Ok I purchased this a few months back (got all the paperwork authenticating it from the team) and I have now secured a Jeff Gordon raced motor to go with the car from Hendricks. The car is the actual 2002 Lonney Tunes car that Gordon raced, except it has the retro paint job. The reason that I chose not to transform it back to the Looney Tunes paint scheme is because he also raced it with this scheme and it's hand painted. That is one heck of a paint job to reverse.

I purchased it through a friend who is aquiring these for museums and private collections , I can tell you that not many have been sold this way. So I find myself in possesison with a neat piece of history and one I intend to take on the track myself. I can not disclose how much I paid for the car but I can tell you it was not cheap but was also not as expensive as you might imagine.

I am having it finshed for the track and I hope to have for it an event in December.

Enjoy pics of the new toy!

This was the original scheme:

That is very sweet indeed. Even better that you plan to take it to the track! Looking forward to seeing some pics of it at the track in Dec. Enjoy!

COOL PURCHASE!

I had talked to Hendricks as well and was looking at buying one of their road course cars this fall once they have to retire them all for the car of tomorrow....

but plans changed slightly with the addition of a second GT :willy

Please let us know how you like it on the track!

so awesome! I hope you're going to use an unrestricted motor and get the car as light as possible! Remember, if you're racing it for fun, there is no need to meet nascar regulations.

One last things, we need vids...please!!!

I would love to know how much something like that costs. Not for any particular reason, just general curiousity.

Current paint job looks great too! I like it better than the Looney Tunes.

I would guess in the 300-800K range w/o motor/trans.
