How much did you lower your car?

I have ordered the Ride Height Adjusters from T&A and wanted to know how much you have lowered your car and if you encountered any problems because of it (speed bumps, driveway, etc.).

Also, did you need an alignment after you lowered?

I have stock shocks. 345/35/19 Scuderias on the rear and 265/40/18 Potenza RE050 B on the front.

I lowered my car by about 2" between tire diameter and ride height and both driveway entrances and speed bumps are a problem. You could probably get away with .5 to 1" but might want to check alinement anyway to make sure it is in spec. I have a 7" long front splitter which adds to the clearance problem but also have much higher spring rates to keep it off the ground over bumps and when braking.

I lowered mind ~1.5" with the TA's. Had to have an alignment as camber went off. That was with BFG all around.

When I upgraded to Bridgestone's I had to crank up the rear ~.5" due to the lower profile of the Bridgestone's otherwise I would have hung up on the lift

Just gotta be more careful with speed bumps. Some have to be transversed sideways.........

My GT is at stock ride height, but Rich & Denis realigned it after installation of Scott's Ohlin shock absorber assemblies.

I too got the Ohlins, but only went down .25 and .5". I did not want bottom out issues.

Stock ride height and I have plenty of scrapes. Fortunately the air dam, side splitters and diffuser have plenty of give. Could not imagine driving it as much as I do and having it any lower. Not to mention (but I will anyway) loading it on a trailer, driving it on to a lift, etc.

The question is, why do you want it lowered? Track? Appearance?

I guess for you...if you haven't encountered the pavement as much as I have, then drop it down until you do.

We will typically lower the GT's 1" in the front and 3/4" in the rear and with good results. At one time Alex published some alignment recommendations. Three set-ups were detailed (caster, camber, toe, etc). The first was total street, second was street/track, and the third set-up was aggressive track. Long story short, dropping the car the aforementioned 1" and 3/4" definitely changed the alignment - but typically brought it right into the specs Alex puplished for a good street/track set-up.

(Note: the front of the car is so damn high in order to meet federal minimum bumper height requirements. The engineers really didn't want that large front wheel well gap!)

ABSOLUTELY have alignment done before you drive it lowered. Don't ask how I know.

To your point... when I first lowered I burned the inside of a set of Dunlops tires in less than 200 miles........................
