How Does One Pour Fuel Additives Into The Fuel Filler Neck?

I tried and the entire contents poured out onto the ground (via the overflow I assume). I further assume that a valve further down the neck needs to be pushed opened (as would be the case during a normal fill up) to accomplish this! What have others done to remedy this situation? How about pouring the contents from the additive bottle in while a fuel hose nozzel is inserted into the neck (pouring along the side of the nozzel)?

hi Joe, i used a new long neck oil filler, that you can get at any of the auto stores, i pushed it down into the filler and it worked fine.

I assume this is for Stabil

-Get a few plastic long neck Funnels from auto_zone;
-4oz. single use Stabil or small bottle additive
-bring a large ziplock bag
-rag or paper towel
-when your done repack so wet funnel/rag is not sitting on your floor.

Stabil fuel perservative comes in a 10oz container with a long filler neck as well. You have to be able to lock/load it, and flip in quickly.:banana

I keep the 4oz blister packs on hand or for trips; store upright; the foil seal can fail.:ack

Ford actually sells an "adapter" for filling via the capless system from other than a nozzle. My 2010 Fusion came with one.

note to self: get one for the GT. Just in case I run out of gas and have to fill from a fuel jug.

there is a second "flap" that has to be opened. long neck funnel will get er' done.

To preserve the 'seal on the GT's gas filler tube (which seems to "go south" far too often), use the SAME long neck funnel (A PLASTIC ONE) when refueling. It'll save slicing up that 'seal with the metal gas nozzle. :wink :cheers

That won't work with the CA type nozzles. Anyone how would you know? You never had to fill the tank!
