Hoosier question.

Gentlemen,

I'm ordering a new set of Hoosier R6s to put on my car before Rally IV. Examining the tire thread gave me lots of good information and I see that the R6s come in the stock rear tire size that does not change ride height at all. The front tires most members are using however are 245/40 ZR 18s that lower front ride height by 6/10 of an inch. My car is already 1/2" lower in the front and because of clearance issues getting into my driveway I really can't lower it any farther. Hoosier also offers a 255/40 ZR 18 that is only 1/10 of an inch lower. That would work for me but I wonder if I'll have any clearance issues with the tires rubbing when the steering wheel is turned all the way one way or the other or at full suspension deflection.

So my question is.....Has anyone here used the 255/40 ZR 18 Hoosier on the front of your car and have you had any clearance problems with them?

Chip -

I've got 245's on the front of my car and it's lowered 1 1/2 inches. No problems.

Chip,

I've set up a car with the 255 40 18's for the track on the OEM rim and they work just fine. No rubbing. This on a car lowered 1" in the front.

Team Jeff and I just completed the install of the T&A lowering kit from Alex which provided 5/8" drop in the front. The FGT is fitted with Hoosier R6 245/40ZR-18s on the front. During my return, there were no issues with dips, speed bumps or the driveway. If you want to take a look, let me know.
