In the search for GT number 2 :biggrin racerx and I have come across a 2005 red/white stripe , 100 mile NEVER TITLED CAR. It is on ebay now the vin is 723. The big question is forgetting he's asking way over the going rate. Its the claim that THE WARRANTY STARTS TODAY IF I BOUGHT IT TODAY AND GOES 3 YEARS FROM TODAY:eek If this is true anyone please post, cause then I will be :banana instead of :bored . Thanks guys gtjoey 1314 :thumbsup

This is only a guess.

Titled, or not. Once the original dealer sells the car the warrantee starts.

That is what I understand also...

This is NOT a guess. If he is an owner, not a FORD DEALER, the warranty has already started. Has nothing to do with the car being titled, on an MSO, etc. Waranty starts the day the dealer puts in his system that the car is sold and no longer part of his inventory. If you wanna get me the vin, I will tell you exactly how much waranty remains and get you a copy of the carfax on it.

Thank you shelby! its an 05 the vin is 723 :thumbsup but it does say he is a ford dealer from indiana, that was never titled. This is interesting info for the heck of it though. Shelby what if the dealer like the old days who never titled a 78 pace car vette , there are hundreds of them still out there in bags, does there old 12 month 12,000 start in 08? is there a cut off? interesting stuff.:thumbsupgtjoey 1314 the quest for GT KNOWLEDGE :biggrin
P.S. RACERX GET THE CHECKBOOK READY LOOKS LIKE OUR FIRST WRITE OFF IS COMING SOON........

If the car is at the dealer and has never been given a "Delivery date in service" yet then warranty has not started. If you have the full vin i could check it.

I would be surprised if he has floor this car for the last 3 years. It is a very expensive car to floor. Most likely the owner of the dealership bought the car, and never titled it.

This is a great perk ,knowing that your new gt is covered till jan 2011! Lets see what everyone else has to say. I m not to familiar with the dealers end, shelving a car, paying it off ect. Lets see, but it is interesting:biggrin to say the least. Thanks again all of you as we piece this one together :thumbsup gtjoey 1314

Let me know if i can help gtjoey. Like i said if you have the full vin i could ck on it.

I would say that '05s under 250 miles are getting fairly hard to find. This seems like a very nice car. $225K does seem pricey (but likely won't 10 years from now!)

$225k+ in ten years is reasonable, but remember if you put $165k in a reasonable investment for ten years you would surely expect more than that, I would think $341k would be a decent return.:wink

First Bank of Bony offers 7.5% coupon? Is it federally insured?? :biggrin

Better go back and beat on that dead horse :)
I'm not a banker, or an investment counselor,... just a realist :)
Happy New Year!

I purchased a new '05 from a local Ford dealer early November. It was on MSO, still new with 150 miles. Received a letter from Ford stating the warranty was good until Nov. 2010.

JUST GOT OFF THE PHONE WITH AN OUTSIDE DEALER, THEY CHECKED THE VIN, ITS LEGIT AND IT IS POSSIBLE, :thumbsup. Well lets see how far we can get. ENJOY GTJOEY 1314 AND BEYOND!!!!!!!!!!:thumbsup

You can go to any ford service department with the vin and they can tell you when the warranty started. My car is on a MSO but the warranty started when the out of state dealer sold it to me. If you want to keep your car on a MSO and drive it, just start a detail business and get a transporter plate. Put put.:wink

Very possible!

Auto companies will normally impose a date and declare all cars sold and end any incentives and start warranty even if car remains at dealer and is unsold.

Because Gt's never had incentives this was not a factor. I assume Ford would take some action soon to start all warranties if it has not done so. As we all know GT is not your typical mass seller.

As to the comment about a dealer not wanting to floor a car for the past three years. We dealers can pay off any car at any time with out registering it with Ford or any DMV and it just remains in our inventory. We are on the hook for all of them anyhow.

.

I just bought a 997 TT. The very first question I asked, when was the inservice date. It was a Porsche dealer, and they very willingly offered all the detail I needed.

This ebay seller is a Ford dealer, so, like I did, get the in service date written into the sales agreement, and I think it should be ok.

But, like several others have said, it's not too difficult to get that info double checked. However, the 225k may have slowed me down anyway.

But, none the less, any savy buyer will not only ask the question, but get it verified.

I/4 mil seems excessive for a RED car...I could see that for a low milage BLACK one.

Just checked it myself. Warenty start date on that car is 00/00/0000. Not inservice yet.
