By saying "help me choose guys" you are implying.........never mind! Perhaps if you said "gals" or maybe uh......a comma?

you thought you would get any other vote than that on THIS forum? :rofl

Is this thread for real?

Opel GT would be my vote.

This is like asking SAM WALTON if he would shop at Walmart or K-mart.....
Like asking Brad Pitt, Whos better? Angelina or Jennifer??
Asking Bill Gates, Microsoft or Apple?

You know the answer.

I could get real hilarious here on this thread... but would be afraid my responses would come across rude.... and make me look like an a$$whole (yeah...spelling, I get it) when in actuality it's just my very very very very very........ DRY HUMOR!!!

But there is this....
:dead:

That is a good question. I would like to own all of these. I started by acquiring a FGT, but my garage space is limited, so I stopped after getting the 1st one.

:lol

OK who voted for the VIPER??? Always a smarta$$ in any crowd. :lol

Actually a Lotus ELise SC would not be a bad add to that list. :thumbsup Cheaper, better MPG, insurance not so bad ..... can you tell I miss mine? :wink

My 2nd choice....

3rd Choice....

thanks guy's
i know it's a stupid question to ask especially on a ford GT forum but i can't make up my mind.
the ford GT was my first choice, but for stock performance, interior / exterior features, price etc....
the viper and the corvette is way better off than the GT.

ACR=600 HP---> $115000
ZR-1=620 HP---> $110000
GT=550 HP---> $175000 USED

Which of those do you think will best hold its value over time?

2002 Viper........Dated, bread truck exhaust sound, interior console and door sills wide enough to sleep on.
New Viper.......Damn you mean they are still making them? And automatic trans. option too.(I know.. yada yada yada ACR)_....Seriously!
Any Corvette......Just a Corvette.........everybody else and their brother will wave at you with one.....Sooooo NOT into that.......Yeh cheap performance if you want cheap........my wife drives an 04 Lemans Commemorative I like the gas mileage and resale vale.......not much bragging rights though....... I think they make abut 35000 of them a year ...hard to tell a ZR1 from a Z06 from an LS-5 from an LT-1 from an LS-6 anyway, you get my point? Mustang GT's (Shelbys, Mach 1s and Bullitts) and Corvettes, very, very COMMONPLACE. $25K one looks almost identical to the over $100K one. Nothing compares to the Ford GT for dollar invested. Also, try and buy a ZR1 for $110K. Only reason I would buy one is if it were sticker price and I could turn it for a few bucks.

Maybe, just maybe, "The One" that isn't produced anymore and were only 4000 of to start with. WAG

I always look more at the cost of ownership than the purchase price. Granted you have to have the money to get in to a more expensive car sometimes. However, my GT is actually worth the same or more than when I bought it a year ago. Financial cost of ownership thus 0. Joy - priceless.

A Viper or Corvette typically depreciates like a rock. Cost less to get into, but cost you much more in the long run.
Of course, the above is purely financial.

The GT is way cooler.

Believe It or Not, Ralphie...

Back when the Can Am wound down in the early 70s, Scotty Beckett in Minneapolis had a McLaren M8E for sale, complete with spares, for less than $13,000. There were no takers and he rented it by the race for amateur competition. I almost bought it, but kept the Lola T70 Mk IIIB we raced in the series. Later sold the Lola to an engineer friend of mine who finally sold it last year for the really big bucks. It is now fully restored and was shown at Elkhart Lakes a few weeks ago. By the way...I had originally purchased the Lola for $4400, complete with spares. Value today...around $400K plus in its restored condition, from what I understand.

Hard to believe the cars sold for so little back then when the new models came onto the track.

3rd Choice....

My 2nd choice would be the ZR1.

But, like I've mentioned b4, I'd have a heck of a pblm paying $150K (or more) for a 'Vette. Especially for one that the average guy on the street can't tell from a std C-6 for the most part.

Besides, there's only ONE CAR that looks like the FGT. And the dumbest dullard on the planet KNOWS he's looking at something awfully special when he's looking at wunna those.

Just MHO.

$52k for my 04 Z06 - Market value $28k with 5,500 miles. Calc cost per mile to see depreciation. Lost $24k

$74,500 for my buddies 07 Z06. Market value $58k with 2,100 miles. Lost $16.5k. Starting to see them under $50k now for 06's.

Vipers do OK IMO if you have the right color, about have that of the Vette. Seams to take a long time to sell for good money.

$154k for my GT, market value $179k ++++ Gained $25k:thumbsup

But, if you want a driver, buy the Vette hands down. Not an investment
If it is a weekend warrior buy the GT. More ivestment caliber.

why pick one? i would just get them all. i am gonna be selling my 2004 Z06 in the future to get the new ZR1. i like my old skool 2001 viper ACR better than the new viper ACR and therefore i have no desire to get another viper. the only car i would own two of is the Ford GT.
