Has anyone watched their boost gauge under acceleration?

Just curious if anyone has watched their gauge under wide open throttle. Where does it go as soon as you floor it, and how does it climb to make peak boost?

Mine seems to show 5-7lbs at first and never goes above 9-10lbs. I know the car is making power (dyno proven earlier), but not sure how accurate and reliable the boost gauge is. Otherwise, maybe a I have a boost leak or something else going on.

Does anyone know where the boost gauge gets its signal from? Is it electric or mechanical?

Thx.

I'm pretty sure mine goes past 10 most of the stop light to stop light racing I do. Not sure where it starts off, never really looked.

Not right....

It's electric and should hit 12 to 13 PSI at the highest 1/3 of the RPM range,

What mods have you done to car? Your intake sleeve may be collapsing...

12.5 at max

Mine um, pegs. And then that's basically it. :wink

Mine pegs with the Heffner pulley

My boost gauge pegs also during hard full throttle. Have only noticed this at speed during full throttle accelerations, not at standstill or low speed full throttle. Maybe their is computer detection based on rpm and actual speed? P.S. My car is bone stock. Dan

So does anyone know where the connection is for the boost signal at the engine?

The stock boost gauge is indeed electric and its signal is inferred from the EEC based on input from MAP / MAF voltage primarily.

Thanks. So where are the connector/wires for the boost gauge located? Can someone take a picture and point to where it is?

Mine pegged with the Whipple pulley and reflash so I removed the peg to set it free. It goes around a few times before it stops now.... :willy
