GT40 Eye Candy

I believe that the GT Guys are still capable and willing to install a Gurney Bubble for you.

Oh boy, another way to spend more money.... The car is going to Rich and I asked him if there was anything else I should add to my list and he never mentioned a bubble... He warned me that the answer might be disruptive to the pocket book. :)

Hey, Mike, whenever 'tis you get around to washing the '40 for the 1st time, would you take note of anyplace the car leaks and give us a report?

'Long story as to why I ask. :cheers

BTW, I'm not jealous about your new ride. Nope. Not a bit. No sir. Huh uh. Not me...

Gotta be less than an open roadster.

I thought of a GTX1 and then realized that it would be like the Cobra - too afraid to take it out in the summer because of the almost guaranteed chance of a surprise thunderstorm.

Are there any Heritage GTX1's?

CONGRATS on your wicked new ride!!! In for more pics and vids!!! It looks AWESOME!!!
Thanks brother! I'm waiting on the front canards and rear spoiler to get back from powder coat as well as the megaphones from the ceramic coater. Once I have those on I'll take a few pics and some better video. It's hard to describe the way it sounds with the megaphones. Angry nasty spittin mad maybe? It's pure music to my ears. It makes my old GT with the straight FFRP headers seem like a pussycat :)

Pockets. I don't drive my nice cars in the rain. I don't think I poured any water on my GT to wash it more than a couple times. I know Dennis sealed up several areas but who knows if it's water tight or not. Not that big of a deal to me I guess.

Gorgeous car! Is the Mk IV a continuation, or a Race Car Replica?

Please don't forget pics of the engine bay. :thumbsup

Congratulations on your GT40! Yes, it is very different from a GT. Here's the fun you can have with a GT and a GT40. Team Jeff & Indy GT in the GT40 (P2109, also an Olthoff car), and me in the GT. Stigs Day out at Spring Mountain.

Nor to me in that sense. :wink

Unless your garage roof has a leak! :lol

Oh, yeah...I forgot about that.:shrug

Tried out the GoPro yesterday. I need to shut the window vents as they add wind noise. What a fun car to drive! Sitting at a traffic like with a big lumpy 427 spittin out the megaphones is a lot of fun. What drone? :biggrin

Sweet! Are you on E470?

The cam on that engine is really nice. It sounds great at idle and runs like a BOH at high RPM. I liked the care and feeding of the small block more than the 427FE big block. More torque at the lower RPMs. Conventional wisdom on the FE is that if it isn't leaking oil it's because you don't have any :) Although I do get a little blow by off the valve cover vents.

After I get mine I'd like to get together at Red Rocks for a photo shoot. Early. First sun. This is a good time of the year with the sun further south the area I go to gets sun first thing and the colors are great.

Since the audio on a link never seems to convey the actual sound recorded, I'd like to know what your assessment of the 'real world' noise level is in the car. Do you say, "Whaaaat?", a lot after a short ride, or is the noise level easily within 'acceptable' limits?

Let me answer in a round about way. Yesterday I had the privilege of taking the car up to a charity dyno competition for a little girl who has brain cancer. There were so many companies and people that showed up to support the family it was incredible. I was able to contribute a few hundred dollars to them by raffling off a ride in the car. The highlight of the day for me was being able to take Morgan out for a jaunt in the car. I'm not a sentimental type of person but to be able to hang out with this little girl and talk to her almost brought tears to my eyes. She is an incredibly strong and positive person while being in such a painful and sad situation. If there's a God on heaven he owes that little girl one. Now to answer your question... with the silencers on it is meaty sounding but a lot quieter than my GT was with the headers. Easy to carry on a conversation inside. On Thursday I installed the megaphones Olthoff made up for me. Now it sounds just about right! Yes, you can talk inside and it's not painful but idling at a light it is a monster. Once you're rolling and have some R's it's not horrible inside but you still can tell this is a nasty sounding car. I absolutely love this car in a way I never did my GT. I'm not sure if this analogy makes sense but the GT was like that almost too perfect blond with fake boobs and platinum hair. She is beautiful but as about as deep as a bird bath. The 40 is like that dark little mamacita with smoldering eyes that does things to you that leaves thinking damn, did she really just do that! It's not for everyone no doubt but for me this is the car that I dreamed about before I hooked up with platinum blond and realized she wasn't quite it. The 40 is it!

"If there's a God on heaven he owes that little girl one."

There is...and in my view, He does.

'Sad...

Hope you are right

I have it on good authority...:wink

BTW...as long as I'm bugging you about your '40 anyway, if you get the chance, how about snapping a pic of the megs with the 'lid' open? ( I'll shuddup with the requests then! :biggrin)

She's a real sweet looking kid.

Her situation just makes me sick. That sort of thing just shouldn't be.
