Surprising, especially on the roll race. The ZR1 packs a lot of power and doesn't weigh that much more...but the Ford GT is the Ford GT. :D

The roll race is what surprised me. I saw that you posted this on the CF, should be entertaining to see the replies there.

It appears something may not be quite kosher with the vid (or the ZR1 used in it)...either that or auto press reports are off.

NFGT according to Car and Driver:

Zero to 60 mph: 3.0 sec
Zero to 100 mph: 6.2 sec
Zero to 130 mph: 10.1 sec
Zero to 150 mph: 14.5 sec
Zero to 170 mph: 21.4 sec
Rolling start, 5-60 mph: 3.6 sec
Top gear, 30-50 mph: 2.3 sec
Top gear, 50-70 mph: 2.3 sec
Standing ¼-mile: 10.8 sec @ 134 mph
Top speed (drag limited, mfr's claim): 216 mph

Corvette ZR1 according to Car and Driver:

Zero to 60 mph: 3.0 sec
Zero to 100 mph: 6.1 sec
Zero to 130 mph: 9.9 sec
Zero to 150 mph: 13.7 sec
Zero to 170 mph: 19.9 sec
Rolling start, 5–60 mph: 3.8 sec
Top gear, 30–50 mph: 1.8 sec
Top gear, 50–70 mph: 2.0 sec
Standing ¼-mile: 10.8 sec @ 135 mph
Top speed (drag limited, mfr's claim): 212 mph
Braking, 70–0 mph: 134 ft
Roadholding, 300-ft-dia skidpad: 1.18 g

GM has a LONG history of supplying 'factory optimized' samples for magazine evaluation. Ford, for what ever reason, hasn't taken a similar path, in fact, much to the contrary, Good marketing, you decide.

And I suppose that I should have mentioned, who cares, none of those are relevant to the car as designed for intended purpose.

different days, different test conditions, and magazines sometimes "correct" data.... only true comparisons are done same day, heads up, side by side....

Still good stuff, makes a point about real cars in real world situations... Thanks!

Agreed. But not as big a diff as the vid appears to show.
Look at the vid from 04:09 to 04:26-or-so. The ZR1 virtually disappears?
'Logic dictates the outcome should have been a whole lot closer distance-wise...especially given the 'speed' readout posted.
I understand optical illusions can and do occur when filming this-or-that...but, if that's what happened in this case - it was a dandy. ;-)

No, it really doesn't.

Anyone who has spent even a trivial amount of time participating in such racing in the real world would recognize this. Fikse is literally the single most recognized practitioner of such racing on the internet. You are bench racing, which is a very different concept.

Hah, my buddy down the street just got his new ZR1 a month ago and we are both socked in by the weather. His is the Sebring Orange track pack model. Very nice car. We can't wait till the weather breaks. I sent him the link to Fikse's video.

Do I sense there is a race when the weather improves? I'm betting on our own Dr Frank for the win!

Ford chose correctly when they picked you, FikseGTS, for the NGT! Keep the videos coming! I love it.

Well said Ed. I agree. Whatever the outcome of the races, a great ambassador is a great ambassador.

Solid work!
