GT Update Teaser Pic

Thanks! That's the debate... either yellow accents or red... I am planning on doing yellow just because I haven't seen it before... yellow calipers.. yellow pin on wheels etc... If we decide to go red it will be very similar to my Solid Black FGT...

Super sweet !!

Ok lets see here.
First I am shocked at all you get done in less time than I put my keyfob thing together.
Next this car is great how did you paint the frame?
When are we going to see the linc slb side special?
Are you bringing this one to Oscoda as well?

Now for the color accent....have someone with computer skills photo shop Sonic Blue.kina retro to the blue mach 1 with flat black stripes but flip flopped

The matt finish is really nice. Different/unique for sure.

Pics

How about some pics before the yellow and after? Yellow might be a bitch to keep the calibers clean without staining or fading.
The sleath matt black I thought would look awesome!!!

This car indeed looks very badass in person. I'm scared of that paint though. Then again, you live where there is way less random stuff flying at your car to damage your paint. It will be a scary thing to run into on the street.

There are basically 4 kinds of GTs. The ones that are quiet. These are mostly stock. Then there are the ones that are really loud and make some reasonable kind of power, but generally sound somewhat similar. That's all the cars with blowers or turbos and one of the myriad cat backs or maybe the FRPP headers. Then there are the cammed up cars that sound like an old school rumbling 7.0 liter OHV car. Basically that is Ed Sim's car.

Then there is this thing. It's absolutely ridiculously loud, it's sounds like a ****in pro-mod, and the sound of those big ass turbos sounds like it is sucking out the souls from passing cars. You can definitely hear the turbos on a car like mine, but it's more of a background noise. With the motor Ray has going in this one, the dominant noise you hear is the ceaseless, terrifying sound of giant turbos about to go crazy.

I've got yellows on my 911TT, no problem keeping them clean. Mind you the ceramics don't throw much (any?) brake dust, but the calipers are painted so nice and smooth that they just wipe clean if there's any dirt on em.

:cool So Peak, with the matte black (which is unbelievably cool) :bow are you able to wax the car or is it some sort of a 'no wax' finish?

He's trying to fool everyone here. He took some steel wool to his black/no stripe and dulled the finish to look matte (all of the black cars are dull anyway).

Still a lot of updates coming... Custom Centerbolt racing wheels,
....

The other option I am thinking about is a custom number and decal package in off white (outlines accenting the matte black background) and leaving accents (brakes etc..) red... thoughts?

Peak, one more comment and then I'm outta here. Tell us more about the Custom Centerbolt wheels. Are these the ones on Jason's FGT website?

OK, make it two. Here's a pic of my custom number package which is just the BLACK as outlines (the white in the numbers is just the background of the decal). Just to give you an inverted idea of what it could look like.

:cheers

Yes, Jason has these on his website... I have three sets coming... a set for the Heritage.. a set for the Matte black car.. a set for the Yellow car... oh yeah and a set of dedicated track wheels.. my bad.. 4 sets. :biggrin

No Wax otherwise from what I have been told.. the matte gets shiny :biggrin it has a satin clearcoat on it so it should still be smooth to the touch... actually haven't seen it in person yet

The completely 100% disassembled the car to paint the frame. Professionally took off all stickers and reapplied after paint... Heffner has said that you can take this car completely apart and swear it came with a metallic graphite frame from the factory...
Even if you can not see part of the frame, we made sure it was painted just like from the factory :biggrin

And I will try and find a picture of the number kit I am thinking off.... off to the internet... back in a bit :cheers

here we go... thought seriously about the wing too but haven't acted on that due to screwing the aero balance all up.. come on KIP where's the kit :biggrin

looks great Ray.

The wing would make this car look absolutely killer...

btw time to change your sig..." 2005 #1388 Silver / Black GT"

I agree... but since I am planning on some high speed runs I am scared to upset the balance...

off to change my sig lol

very wise move Ray.... there are gents like you that do it,... wanna be's like most of us that enjoy watching...

the balance issue is a major issue. Wings look great an In & Out Burger parking lots :)

Man, the white lettering on those tires makes a HUGE difference. That toy looks bad as hell.

sooooo.......

consensus on the lettering number kit is...

good?

Cause that is what I am thinking... just won't go with the yellow accents..

I absolutely love the carbon fiber wing on the Viper ACR and think it would look just as menacing and purposeful on the GT.

But I'm afraid a lot of people would agree with Bony that it's a little over the top.

Having said that, I'm still putting one on if somebody builds one that looks like your model above.:thumbsup
