"Good Morning Dennis,

It is true, the door system is called the GT/B-door it will function like
the Enzo Ferrari door. the cost for this option is $12,000. US and will give
you much better entry and exit from the car without changing the look of the
original design of the car.

Sincerely,

Mark"

Will be interesting to see how much more functional they will be.

I wonder how much weight it may add to the car. Another concern is the side impact protection with the new door system. Notice that the doors have a interlocking mechanism in the roof section that ties it into the rest of the car. I don' know if it can be retained in the swing up doors.

I don' know if it can be retained in the swing up doors.

Most, if not all, of both the good and bad aftermarket door hinges I have seen will use the stock striker/latch mechanism. In other words, when opening, the doors will travel outward "normally" about 6" before swinging up. This ~6" of "normal" travel room gives you some slamming ability in order to engage the stock striker(s).

I would be very cautious of any kit tampering with the striker design or location. This is engineered into the car and I just wouldn't trust the aftermarket to come up with an alternate design that is as safe.

My $.02.

Unconventionally hung doors are 99% of the time just a gimmick. What people fail to realize is that the originator (and likely the sole "real" use of them ) was done solely because the car was changed from an open roadster to a coupe and the space frame sill structure of the roadster was carried over inhibiting entrance for Moss (although Jenkinson was so tiny he could slip in anywhere)

PIMP MY GT!!!

No way - Get a Pinto for that sillyness :rofl

i agree ..
i have done lambo doors on my SRT8 CHRYSLER 300 and though it looked great when opened .. the car is almost disfunctional and alsomst always the doors are missalighned properly

i think it would be a disaster if one was to rearrange the doors on the GT..

after all the lambo and the enzo where designed with that in mind..
