Looks like it was being being driven by Dirk Mueller (check out his Instagram)... I can’t wait to see what they are up to.

If it's absolute record it's looking for, sorry, no way.

First time I've seen rear spoiler fully up at speed. Pretty cool!

Absolute record for what? Going as fast or faster than other production cars...? it would be interesting to see how it compares to the new GT2 RS.. my gut feeling this is a preliminary test. Maybe they'll come back with a lightweight version.. that would be their best bet for a good time around the circuit

Even though Ford has stated they are not chasing records, you have to figure they want to know what the car is capable of after all they have invested.

Interesting.

The driver is probably not a german, you don‘t activate the turn signals prior entering a circle, you do it to signal before leaving. But just a guess, many Germans don‘t understand that as well.

I love this car, but I do not see it setting any Ring records.

Any chance it could be a track-only version?

Doubtful, it’s the same car that was at Goodwood, and that was a road version. Watching the video brings back memories of our group’s terrifying laps in torrential rain back in 2016 in our 05/06 cars!

Could not agree more, GT would need to get down to 2800 lbs wet and add 100 hp to break the 6:44.97 mark. The car has the best aero out there but weight and horsepower make the difference.

Nice video it would be neat to see what the GT could do around the ring!!

Also the GT would need CupSport2 R tires like on the GT2 RS, but they are not yet avalible in the sizes for our cars

The GT already has Sport Cup2 tires.

Yes, but the Porsche is on the "R" type Sport Cup2

I disagree.

I'm not sure about that. I think the NFGT has enough power, but whether it has sufficient downforce to take the Ring on properly, that's the big unknown. The suspension needs to set up for the Ring as well.

The driver did let me know that the suspension was adjusted for the purpose

Hmmm...wonder what Scott Ahlman has been up to these days. He knows a bit about suspension setup...

Only one way to settle this argument...

I disagree.

Look at FGT Willow Springs Lap Time vs ACR and the ACR did not break 7 minutes.
