67 Wins!!!

Fuel kept it from being a 1 - 2.

Westbrook and then Hand.

It wasn't a fuel problem. Hand's tires went away. Just before Westbrook passed him Hand said his tires suddenly felt like balloons and he couldn't keep the pace. There's an app on Iphone that you can listen to team communications in the camera cars. Hand had a camera in his car. That was a damn shame. Should have been a 1-2 win.

I asked one of the crew members while in he winners circle and he said it was fuel. Also when he pitted he only took a splash of fuel and no tires.

ON FS1 they said fuel, and when he pitted, that's all he took.

Looks like fun!! I wish I could have been there !!! way to Go Ford & CGR !!

Wish you could have been here Brian. this was really great.

My Folks came along and had a great time. My Dad is 86 and Mom 84. 20160501_102120.jpg
Our suite attendant, Henry was awesome and kept the thermostat set at 66 and 67 for good luck even though the others were complaining it was too cold. :lol

Thanks to all for the pictures !!

way to go Ford!!

What was the significance of the one vette going in deep on turn 1? Is that a normal thing to do?

Just a few of the ones I took with my camera. So proud of Ford for winning. Susan and I can't wait to cheer them on again. On to Le Mans. (I've also posted a ton on Facebook if interested.)

Apollo - we missed you at all the GT events during the race weekend. Maybe next time.

yeah, so sorry about that Ed, we got to see most everyone else but missed you. :confused
Was spending a lot of time with my folks as it was their first time going to a big race. Lots of hills and hard to reach areas, but they got around to everywhere and they especially liked the corkscrew. :thumbsup

I'm a Ford fan (since prior to Ford's attempt at buying Ferrari) but re: the above two statements, don't start celebrating yet. :shrug

I missed the "domination" and Ford's got a lot of catchin' up to do in sports car racin' to call one stinkin' l'il win making for sad times for the prancing horse gang... here's hopin' it's a start tho'... :usa

I would say you DIDN'T score any points on this forum with this post!

It was a joke Jim.

But it was a domination. 77 minutes on conservation mode and still finished well ahead. If Hand hadn't had his tires turn to balloons it would have been a nice 1-2. Good strategy information for the future.

I'll take it for the 4th race the car has ever participated in on these shores, and hopefully the WEC team can build on Silverstone (although I don't expect much given the current WEC BoP situation).

Should have taken more pics but here's a few:

HF3 and The Clines discussing the victory post-race. Love seeing the Green Machine at every race so far this season. Also great for Henry and the family. I know Edsel has to be thrilled for him to be there to represent the company for win #1.

All in all, thrilled to be able to be there and see the new Ford GT take home it's first win, especially in the manner in which it did so. Great driving from all four guys; it's a shame they couldn't hold on for the 1-2. Joey Hand was at the table next to us at dinner post-race. We spoke briefly and he was bummed but he seemed optimistic. He definitely knew they had the pace for victory.

Great group of die-hards who made the trek and were rewarded with the win. An awesome moment in history for Ford GT fans. Hopefully many more to come.

Wish we could have made it, but we will be at Le Mans for the BIG ONE.:thumbsup
