The garage floor is getting redone next week with this:

Slide1.jpg

The garage is only one car as the loft in very loooooong (~70 ft) and not nearly as wide. Sits directly under the upper level living area. Floor will be done in colors appropriate to the car. Should look pretty cool when it's done.

That's GT dedication :biggrin

Thanks!

P.S if anyone wants to add something like this, the vectorized graphic of the Ford GT font can be found online at brands of the world.com. It can be enlarged to any size with no degredation.

I'd imagine there are a number of other marques represented there as well for those with a collection. Could be somewhat cool.

you should go for GT Forum DBK (if not on your floor, where else !?)...

YOU earned this...... my compliments - My (and others, for sure>>) DEDICATION AND PASSION FOR THE CAR WOULD NOT BE THE SAME WITHOUT YOU SETTING UP THIS SITE AND RUN IT IN A WAY, THAT I THINK DESERVE BIG CREDIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (GT JOEY STYLE, EY,EY,) :biggrin

Honestly Dave, the Marketing at FORD went short after the initial wonderful presentation(maybe, on purpose,- cult marketing grows on it's own and can not be pushed anyway but must grow on it's own..........). but you pulled off the cult aspect intended..!! :thumbsup :thumbsup

Does FORD MGMT realize this, in the end !? :willy If not, something needs to be changed for sure, in the current reshuffle..... I just look at it like all other companies I am asked to look at, for significant money btw...@!

slf360- :thumbsup

Thanks for the kind words sir...I certainly hope in the future Ford learns some lessons from the cult of GT. There were opportunities missed to be sure.

Like Joey, I'm sitting by the phone, waiting for the call :wink

DBK-I am sure you know this, but floor prep, epoxy type and application technique are crucial to ensure your floor and graphics don't peel with hot tires sitting on them. Don't skimp, to do this right will probably run you north of $4 psf on a floor area this small.

Yeah, they know. It's positioned in a manner such that the tires won't do more than roll over them on their way to the resting place. And we're giving it two weeks to cure before a car gets in their...this was negotiated before the place was bought, and they got sick of me whining in a hurry, so everything is pretty much fixed. :lol

Damn DBK, I hope you're planning on living there a long time or else you'll have to let The Car go with the house when you sell it! :biggrin

That simply is awesome! I have thought of different dream garages but have never thought of that, I love it!

Very cool, I can't wait to see it complete.

garage information

Dave - I am in the process of adding a 3rd bay to my garage. Framed and roofed today. Electric / Plumbing /Drywall /Concrete floor next 2 weeks. I have done a cathedral ceiling so I can add a 4 post lift and double deck if I get another car. Your idea/logo looks great... I have 2 questions:
1. what is the epoxy floor coating you are using?
2. best lighting for the garage?
thanks...Andy Benedict (ajb) blue/white stripes 2006

garage outfitting

I can tell you guys about a couple things that worked good in my garage....and a couple that didn't. I had a cathedral ceiling put in the third bay, and, at the same time, added extra outlets and air lines throughout the garage. Installed 2'x4' recessed flourescent light fixtures (4 bulbs each) - they really light the place up.

I installed my compressor in the shed behind the garage - I can hardly hear it run (dug a trench and buried both the air line and 220 line).

We seem to have a lot of power failures around here, so I thought a skylight would be nice for finding my way around in the garage if the power went out (in the daytime, anyway). What looks like another flourescent fixture in the upper right of this picture is actually a 2'x4' skylight...

DSCN2220_Large_.JPG

...that didn't work out so well....the skylight, "guaranteed not to leak" seems to leak sometimes, and, worse than that, every flying insect that ever gets into my garage flys up there, gets heat exhaustion, dies, and ends up on the hood of my car....I don't even have to DRIVE them to get bug mess all over them!

The lift, of course, is one of the best tools I ever bought - makes it easy to detail the undercarriage, polish wheels, and stack cars - a great investment.

The ceiling fan seems to help circulate air in the garage, but makes me nervous when I stack a second car on top - I think I'd forego it next time, unless I had lots of headroom above the lift.

regards,

Jeff

garage stuff

Jeff - thank you for the recommendations and the cool picture. I will go with the flourescent lights. I already have the roof on and did not do skylights. I went to "U-coat it" today based on another recommendation on the GT Forum. Looks like a good product but I won't do the floor until spring. Thanks

Love the painted floors. Ok... It doesn't have GT on it yet... Need to get the logo to apply to the floor?

I didn't think about a GT logo or any graphics when I re-did my garage, but I did plan the floor colors to look good with the GT.

Bill, Is your flooring that inter-locking polystyrene panel system, or something else. Looks great.
