The WEC cars are automatically granted entry. The IMSA car that won Le Mans this year gets an automatic invite back, so the final IMSA car just needs the invitation from the sanctioning body.

I'm excited about the potential for customer cars down the road.

It wasn't long ago all the Naysayers were questioning Ford's commitment to racing. I guess that has been answered and also opened up potential for another 500 cars.

This is great news all around. Stoked that they will continue to push the GT race program and car forward. The exposure for Ford and especially the Ford Performance line due to racing the GT has to be viewed as a tremendous success in my opinion.

Also, the possibility of Ford/Multimatic actually building 1000 +/- of the street GT increases our chances of ownership! Great news indeed.

On the calendar in ink. We are experiencing another automotive golden age.
 
Pretty sure DBK said before the extension of the Le Mans racing had nothing to do with the number of cars they will build... but I do hope all of us GT owners that want one will be able to purchase one

You're correct. I don't believe anything official has been released that Ford will make more than the initial promised 500. Just trying to will it to happen. 1000-1200 is still extremely limited but as Brian said, chances of ownership going from 1% to 2% is something. Hahaha!

We will be watching this car race in one form or another for a long time.
