Ford GTs so far

My opinion, the "22" on Legano's 66 heritage, modifying the design was wrong.

However, Mr Kaufman's modification to match the winning 66 car (that he also owns) is very RIGHT.

My son noted that the #2 on the side of the car looked different and said that it looked custom. Is this the case? (We were at the Rolex 24)

Gentlemen,

I have a nice set of matching color GT’s that I’m very proud of. But I can say without hesitation that Rob’s matched set blows mine away. Just unreal. Somebody here has his # so I’m going to make a request. Call him and request that he post several good photos of those two cars together. Start a new thread for that so they are easy to find. Thanks in advance.

You missed it a couple pages back.

Blue no stripe at the Philly Auto Show looked really Vivid with the white floor. No one even hardly paid attention to the Bugattis.

Mooses --- Is that going to be your color ?

Andy, this new GT could be the same liquid red car displayed at the Barrett-Jackson last month. It seems no two cameras can capture all it's awesomeness exactly the same! This color changes in the light to dark, indoor to outdoor and even where you stand. I'll get more pictures today.

Ok. It just looks more "orange" than liquid red.

Gentlemen,

Reading this forum certainly gives one a slightly warped sense of perspective. Before I received my NFGT I read every new post here every day and it made me feel like I was the only guy WHO DIDN’T HAVE ONE!! I know it’s still frustrating for members desiring a future allocation. But the reality is that these will always be very rare and special cars. Now at full production capacity we are still talking about “one” handcrafted street legal homologation special Ford GT finished every weekday. Just 5 a week. Perhaps “churning them out” isn’t quite as accurate as “on target”. The new GT has made a huge impact but to this day fewer than 175 people own one. And Andy is right, most GT owners are not active here which is mind blowing to me. How could somebody own one and NOT participate here?!?

Every day I either drive or admire the matched yellow & black GT’s in my garage and still have trouble believing it’s real. Cheers.

Drooling with envy.:wink

Have you got yours Frank?

No, waiting on order window.

I have to chuckle at this one. I was driving over by the old Saleen Special Vehicles building, where they produced the 05/06 car, and saw this sitting in the large empty lobby. They still had one of the old molded 05 GT coffee tables sitting in there. It's now Penske Vehicle Services.

I stopped in to take a look and got chastised for taking pics.

The car is literally sitting in an all-glass lobby on a main road that probably 100k people per day drive past. Obviously, secrecy is very important here! I told them I have one but I don't think they believed me. :lol

I have fond memories of that building.

at the SEMA show this year, they were doing a presentation on the GT, I got the right answers to GT questions and she thew me a GT hat, she asked how I knew so much and I said I was getting one, she laughed like, "yea right"... :)

yeah.. Happens to many of us... I guess we just do not look like football, baseball or basket ball players, movie celebrities, rap stars or billionaires....

It is even more fun getting out of the car with work boots, car-hart jeans and hands with 'day-old caked paint' from yesterdays project and pumping your own gas.
Most folks think .... "that guy must have stolen that one..." or they ask me which dealer I am ''gassing up the new GT for ...?"

Hah, hah!! Andy, I'm with ya on that! I'm just a regular guy most days. No gold chains or cologne on this redneck.

Today I rolled up to my bank in my dirty sweatpants and black Carrhart sweatshirt (which I bought at Tractor Supply so it doesn't show the dirt). I had been rolling around under my 1973 911 after jacking the engine/tranny back into it a couple days ago, so I wasn't exactly "presentable." I walk into the bank to set up a wire transfer. The regular branch manager knows me well, but the assistant manager is a new temporary fill-in. I get the sense he's wondering whether I just came in to get some free knick-knacks. Then he looks up my account. Then he makes the connection with the car... :rofl
