Well I finally got a chance to go see the GT which is in storage in Palm Springs and I couldnt have been more excited. Right from the moment I sat in it for the first time, I could tell that it was something extremely special. Me and my dad cruised around the Palm Springs area for a couple days and the amount of attention the car gets is unreal! I cant imagine any car that gets noticed like it does, with the stripes, ride height and all. A few times my dad opened the taps enough for me to realize just how much trouble this car can get you into. Eventually we drove out 5 miles to some outlet stores as an excuse to get the GT on the Freeway. On the way back, I was given the choice if I wanted to drive the car back to the city. Me, being slightly sane (I think) accepted and Im SO glad I did. Half way back the road turns of the freeway and turns into a 4 lane divided highway along the edge of the base of the moutains. On this road I got a chance to see how poised it is around the corners, but dont worry, I didnt take the car anywhere near what its limits are. Just some smooth bends at 75mph and one strait were I got it up to 100mph in 4th gear. All I can say is WOW. The engineers at Ford must REALLY know their stuff to be able to come up with something that is blisteringly fast, rock solid, able to corner like a jack rabbit, and yet so easy to drive. The day when the trailer with the GT inside it rolls up to my home cant come soon enough!

Yup! All that sounds pretty much like the "average" first time reaction! :lol :cheers

Do take it easy with the GT on cold tires and cold roads.... the GT is insanely fast and, unlike the vast majority of supercars, it has no electronic nanny taking care of the driver!

Good luck and safe motoring.... :cheers

Neat. I have a Basketball tournament in Lloyd this weekend. What a small world we all live in!

I thought this was a sticky, but I couldn't find it.

.... how many minutes will it be???

Welcome from a former Calgarian now enjoying the Ozark Mtns. You have and will enjoy the car even more as you get used to it. Keep an eye out for the GT Rally which will be announced next summer....try to come. It's a blast. Look at prior Rally threads and pics and you will get the picture.

I fully agree about the wisdom of the guys that conceived and built this car. How the hell can a first year supercar be this good? Those blue oval guys are absolute studs!

How funny...I have a cousin in Lloydminster. Took him for a ride in the GT when he was down here, and he was blown away. You should drive the GT there someday...bet they've never seen one before!
