Gentlemen,

The mode of operation on this forum is normally, "If you don't have something nice to say then don't say anything at all". But in this case I would like your opinions both positive and negative. I have several sets of wheels and tires for my GT and one of them is a set of flat black standard wheels. I have tried them with both chrome and flat black small center caps so that the lug nuts were exposed. The other day I wondered what they would look like with the standard knockoff covers so I installed them and I think they look pretty good. I have seen these wheels painted orange on some heritage cars with the standard knockoff center caps but I have not seen the combo with the wheels painted flat black. So give me your honest opinion, good or bad. What do you think?

I actually like it.

I like the look, and I love the base wheels. The problem is that the plastic becomes obvious against black, where it's not so obvious against silver. The wheels need a metal, non-chromed spinner. If you take the spinners off, the indentations in the wheels look odd. So, thumbs up, but points lost for chromed plastic.

I think they look good as you have them.
FWIW I however prefer all black wheels, particularly on yelloe cars.

think they look like crap. why don't ya just give them to me :rofl

Actually, I like that look... and the center cap breaks up a full black out

Looks great especially on a yellow car with black/carbon accents. Keeper.

Personally I would use the f150 center caps, and black lug nuts vs the "spinner" . I have 3 sets of option wheels, been pondering getting a set of the standard wheels, and making them black.

I like it,, have you thought about or tried Yellow spinners to match the car ??

Showing my age, but never been a big black wheel guy. Having said that I have them on my 12C Spyder.

The one color that I think black wheels work with is yellow- (the bumblebee thing) -- so, yes I like them.

I think it looks cool. I had Shelby (by his recommendation) paint my fuel cap/fuel lever/trunk lever black to match my gloss black wheels. It's totally yellow and black now. If I remember right you had silver aluminum wheels at Rally 8 though.

This is the only pic I have at the moment...

I think the black wheels make it easier to recognize the fact that the chrome center cap is a simulated "knock off" spinner. I like it!

Looks purpose oriented and I ike the std non-black caps.

Edit. I know u didn't ask but I think the fender pull handles would look better black on your car.

Yep black wheels look great on yellow car and with silver center caps

I have a set of satin black options for my track day set up and dont like them that much but looks great against the yellow car

I like it.

I like it Chip.

Standard wheels always look awesome to me.

I think gloss black spinners would be the ticket. It would also tie it into your gloss side panel.

Not a huge fan of the base GT wheels but, mat black wheels on a yellow car can't be beat!

This was a Z06 I had before my red one -

I know u didn't ask but I think the fender pull handles would look better black on your car.

Fenzo,

I agree. I've got a machined aluminum gas cap and I thought that the two pull handles and the cap would look better black.

Just remember who won best of stock last year...without my handles and gas cap painted. I'll be at Rally 9 with a few other surprises this year. Hahahahaha.
