Also when the unit is removed by the quick pin release the seat will move all the way up with the bracket still mounted on the rails , this is truly a nice ad on!

I spoke with Steve at Livermore....
With the Extinguisher mounted there is some limited travel in the far forward
seating position. As far as sliding the seat rearward there is no problems at all.
Great bunch of guy's to deal with.... I have one of these on the way !!!!

Thank you Gents for all the info, particularly on the seat mounting/movement. I just ordered my kit.
I'm a big fan of anything polished, but with a black GT, and seeing the pictures of your black halons, there was only one choice, the powder coated black extinguisher.
According to Steve at Livermore, more seat brackets are in production, scheduled to complete this week.
UPDATE: Seems there is a backorder on the QR brackets for the extinguishers...

Why are we not trying to do a group buy on this also? IMHO this is the minimum that we should have in our GTs. Even Porsche offer a fire extinguisher as a factory option of many models. And as someone smarter than me pointed out, the extinguisher can be used to smash a window in case the door cannot be opened.

My patient Dave Thornhill is the fabricator. He cut Steve's & my fire extinguisher bracket by hand but has just finished 20 of them this week using a water cutter. They should be even cleaner which is difficult to believe. It's really a very simple design. Dave has done amazing fabrication & welding on all my motorcycles & cars the past 15 years.
Steve & his brother, Monty, at Livermore Performance are very cool. They both are serious gear heads that open track all the time.
My wife rode in the GT recently & didn't even notice the fire extinguisher below her legs! That's a good sign. Thanks Steve & Bony!

Question: Are most people mounting the fire extinguisher in front of the driver or passenger seat? Can it be easily removed and used from the driver's seat if it is mounted on the passenger side?
passenger side mount , pull the pin marked "pull" and out it comes into your hand smooth as butter....quick release pin works perfect and you can't see the unit unless you look for it , its a real nice install SEE PICS at beginning of this thread.

Thanks Steve. I just wondered if anyone tried mounting it in front of the driver's seat since there was a mention of using it to smash a window in the case of an accident that prevents opening the door.
I think the braket made would fit on either side but with unit in place you cant move the seat forward

What size torx bit (T45? or T50?) are you using to remove the bolt to mount the extinguisher bracket to the seat rail?
What method? Socket with angle head? Looks a little tight with the seat cushion almost over the head of the bolt.

I cut a T50 down as short as possible and put it back into its 3/8" drive rachet holder. Then connected it to a long wobble extension. The extension compresses the cushion, but it has a smooth finish and didn't cause any damage.
Also use hand tools, it will be a lot safer, not the Makita.

Re-using the standard seat hold down bolts diminishes the strength; as the number of threads that do the work are many fewer. If any of you want, I bought a bag of 30mm long bolts and decided to get a heavy flat washer for each: I used 2, so have enough for 9 more installations (18 bolts & washers). Instead of Torx, it is now a 7mm allen head. Send me a PM or e-mail if you'd like a set. I'm sending a set off to Ed for all his great work on these Livermore extinguishers.:cheers
