It looks like a copyright infringement to me! If you can't beat them, copy them!

I can see some similarities but there is a lot of 'prior art' in the aero world - quite a bit from F1. Ferrari would be negligent if they didn't adapt/adopt design features that it feels offer Ford potential competitive advantage. If it (Ferrari) proves to be successful, I expect Ford will answer it in the form of aero and/or mechanical updates. ;-))

I will say, it is one homely looking design by comparison to the GT.

This was just some fan rendering, not something official from Ferrari.

What the hell is that thing? There is a LOT to process there visually..... Somehow Im thinking there is a lot of changes that would have to be made to be federalized here in the US.

Not if you only sell 100 or so. :wink

That's a Ford GT that's been overinflated by about 30psi

Looks like a single seat design.

This has been around for awhile, and before the NFGT. There is even a pic of Camilo holding the model that came out before any pic of the NFGT hit the streets. It's already been commented on n this Forum

Exactly

I did a forum search & couldn't find photos before I posted. Help me with a link!

So you are saying the FGT is a copy of the conceptual Ferrari?

Ed

Adriano Raeli submitted this as his design thesis in 2014 while attending the Pasadena Art Center College of Design. He was not working for Ferrari.

You 'could' draw parallels between the resulting Prowler and Chip Foose's Hemisfear project and now Raeli's project, as they both were students that attended The Art Center College of Design, though from different years.

That's actually pretty sweet. But they won't make anything close to that. That's too good looking to be a Ferrari!

What parts of the NGT design were patented? It seems like it would be hard to patient general design.

Ed

In the end all cars are copies of old Henry's first design.

4 wheels and a motor

Seldon (original patent on the car) thought so.

Yep, I remember seeing that. I was going to say something but I didn't want to burst any bubbles here. I've already been reported as a bubble busting meanie..

Selden. It's an interesting patent case.
