F1 Crash-No serious injuries but car totaled

No kidding!

+1

I also love the fact that they had the car cover and covered it up before loading on the flatbed.

After it's repaired with no expense spared by mclaren, I would gladly own the car. GLADLY.
I'll be second in line (if I had a dump truck full of cash, that is).

The VIN plate survived... this car will live again, and that is good. A no story, no mile car is akin to a no story, no mile life... what's the point?

I guess a similar analogy might be, it would be like the GT guys fixing it, with Mayflower and the frame manufacturer still in business (cant remember company name), and they were all one company. In the case of the F1, have plans, have autoclave, sure, we can do that....

one of the more insightful statements i've read on this forum…!!
agreed.

Yes, I couldn't agree more. In fact no-story, no-mile cars are more likely to have more issues down the road than a driven car that may have had some minor work done (assuming it was repaired right). The "virgin value" that some are paying for now may not end up being worth as much down the road if one is planning on driving the car IMHO.

I agree 150%. I'm not a collector and I don't think most are. One of the greatest cars ever should be driven. I guy near me has a F40 and he drives it. I'm sure in 10 years a well repaired GT will still demand a good price. Aren't the salvage title repaired GT's still bringing well over "sticker price"?

Shelby Cobras destroyed on the track and rebuilt!

True for most race cars, especially factory team cars. Sometimes minor, most times major damage.
