Sunday morning and I am locked out of my GT, with the following situation:

Dead battery
Have the keys
Key will not open door
Key and handle will not open front trunk lid
Owners manual is inside the car

WHAT TO DO?

Any help appreciated, as I am locked out and stranded.

Thanks

Key should open door, it's just difficult . To open, put it in the door, push in on the door and you will have to use extra force to turn it. Careful not to bend or break the key.
Also, the key should work in you side fender release for the front bonnet unless it's been changed out for some reason

Thanks, will try the door. (Bonnet function not working

Shelby is correct, turn the key counterclockwise in the door and push in hard on the door itself.

When using the key to open the front trunk you will need to: turn the key, lift the lever up (keep it held up), and lift up on the trunk.

Also, as for the front bonnet, put the key in the driver front fender hole, turn key. While key is turned, pull out lever. HOLD the lever out while you lift up the front bonnet.

It's OK my wife calls me a dog all of the time:lol

Turn key Counterclockwise.

It still may start; I had this happen 2 years ago, after 6 weeks of no use in winter 2007 (still using battery).

Key fob didnt work, but manual key worked.

Drive it today 3 hours and put it on charger.

Folks, keep the charger on if you are going two weekends without use, esp. if you are in yr. 3-4 on OEM battery.

Well, 'glad to see the "Alpha poster" has been determined w/o bloodshed! :lol

...but the question is: Has access been gained to a certain someone's GT yet?

Thanks

Thanks for the guidance. I did get the door open with no problems (I did not know to turn the key counter clockwise far enough prior to getting your good advise). The mechanical opening of the "trunk" lid is not working, seems like the cable must have somehow disconnected (bad combo with no power....). I am now charging the battery through the inside lighter power outlet. (I may have to use a stronger charger than the stock one that is meant for maintenance charging). I need to charge it to the point where the remote trunk opener on the key fob works. If not successful, is there a third way of opening the trunk lid?

Thanks again.

There is an old post here on how to do it, but you won't like it. Need to take wheel off and pull fender liner to get at cable.

Yes! THE JAWS OF LIFE!

The "boot" should open when the battery is 'up' a bit...

Why would a battery go dead after a couple weeks of not running? What is draining it? I've parked my race truck for a couple months with no issues at all starting using a single Optima.
