Very nice!!!!:eek I also like the added pin stripe. Did you do a black finish under the top vents or did you leave them the color of the stripe?

Just a foot note: I put a piece of black vinyl under the billet vents when I did mine and it really brings out the bling:willy

They look very nice however are the OEM version in the works too?

BTW Petunia did you clear coat, clear powder coat, or clear anodize the vents on your gal to keep them from discoloring over time?

Her arse looks hot !!

Takes care

OK, I'll bite. I'm all for the bling but if plastic is under the vents, how do they vent? Or do they need to function?

My car is not with me so I can't visualize the setup.

Thanks.

The side vents will be ready to ship in one week from Monday baring any machine complications. You can send a paypal payment to info@tricountyaire.com in the amount of $675 ea. (includes shipping) as I may send a couple out on Tuesday or Wednesday for the early birds and Wow we do have some early birds.:thumbsup
thanks, John

As the customs are being machined the OEM's are getting the final touches in the computer and I expect two to three weeks for the final product to be ready.

I did not coat my vents at all as I would like to see how long the sheen on them will last and once they need work I will send them out to the polish guy for some high finish work (I love the straight off the machine as is look). Keep in mind that the vents are machined out of Virgin 6061 T65 Aluminum and our machinist thinks we should get several years looking as they are until they may need polishing (we'll see). We are looking into anodizing or powder coating the OEM side vents black as an option for those who want to keep the stock look.

I would recommend powder coating over anodizing. In the sunlight, color anodized parts tend to fade over time and lose their luster.

in a nut shell... the plastic ducting allows air/heat to escape the engine compartment but stops rain or wash water from going in and falling directly on the motor...
i know there is a better technical explanation which was told to me at Ford but I am always worried about wash water HAHAHA :willy

How you been DonnyMac??? We need to get together for dinner one night!!

:cheers

Pe2unia,
Great job with the vents. I think the bright machined aluminum in that area of the car looks REALLY good. This project was on my list. I'm sad that you beat me to it, but glad that you did a good job.:biggrin

What will the price be per set of OEM side vents?

I installed both sets tonight. The fitment was perfect. You guys really went all out making sure everything lined up. It would be easy to get the mounting holes off a little which would be a PIA, but everything went smooth.

I'm glad I bought these. My originals were not only slightly warped, they were cracked quite badly at the bottom mounts and one of the screw posts was actually broken off. It was just a matter of time until they fell apart. This was on the '05 with 7000 miles.

Now I have to buy another set for the other car since I know the stock ones won't hold up.:ack

Thanks again.:thumbsup
