March 10 & 11 was NASA SoCal's second race of the 2018 season. Spec Miata field is growing a little bit as there is a big ($80K) purse at the NASA season final at COTA. As such, some former SCCA guys are deciding to race with NASA this year.

Spoiler: 14-15 car field and Ryan won the race on Saturday and Sunday at Willow Springs International Raceway. Here's a scary in-car video of Ryan getting pushed off of turn 8 at ~100mph. This incident lights a fire under his ass and he's on a mission to pass all of them and build a large lead for the win.

Race start at: 12 minute mark

Push-off at: 13:40 mark

Go Ryan!!!!!!!!!

Very nice. Ryan's car had the noticeable edge up the "hill" and the exit down the hill. What a great class to get razor sharp. :thumbsup

That Ryan has got real talent! Congratulations! :thumbsup

Here's a good start with Ryan driving the K24-powered Exocet at the start of the Friday night 3-hour Endurance race. (Video end with Ryan pitting because of loose light, but soon thereafter we retire from the race with a failed TPS sensor.)

That was awesome to watch. Rooting for him all the way.

His corner speed advantage is impressive. Great job Ryan!

Great job! Congrats Ryan!

Nice drive!
Congrats!
Love winning!

Keep up the progress your a lucky guy to have the talent and the opportunity

That was fun to watch! Nice Ryan.

Hey Ryan, takes talent that's for sure, and what you did after the bump and finishing on top takes determination, congratulation. Now then, when are you going to come over so I can give you some pointers :biggrin-
Showed the race to Jake and now he wants in on the action, he started looking at used M3s and a trailer

I couldn't recommend the sport more! What really great for us as a family is that we're all into it. Lauren is Ryan's social media persond this year and has been trying to generate awareness. Most weekends, Ryan and I are either working on a GT or two and/or working on one of the race cars. For the monthly races - the 4 of us attend as a family. Life is good!

Here is a video of one of Ryan's very first races with NASA SoCal at California Speedway. You can see the lead swapped several times and the bump-drafting through turn 2 at more that 100mph! Ryan is in the red 21 car. He still has his rookie stickers on as we just joined NASA. However, his brief racing experience at Spring Mountain served him well. Anyway, this is an exciting race to watch!
