Color and value in todays market

I agree to disagree.:cheers

Na, I just added that.

Home on Fox Island, work in Gig Harbor. And you?

Just a stones throw away from me (Kitsap county).

I saw that. You have a red car right? I should try to be little different. :cheers

Yep! The the undesirable and near worthless red with white stripe!

I never understand this color/value question.

Its like picking your wife based on hair color AND potential divorce settlement.

It can't be said enough...buy what gets your heart racing. And I agree...whatever color...you will love and forever want a GT.

Unfortunately, I fell in love with a Black, no stripe at Rally III. So by Rally IV I had found the right one for the right price. They definitely come with a premium. And mine will continue to de-value because I DRIVE IT! So the miles will increase over the years. But I don't care! I LOVE THE DAMN THING!

Some day...I hope I am fortunate enough to purchase a low-low mileage Heritage and re-purchase a Tungsten. Those are my favorite colors.

Cheers guys. Enjoy your GT's!

Just to be clear,

I am not asking about future resale value, only what to expect the market to say (at this time) about color, signatures and billet control arms.

:usa

KMCBOSS....I love red too.

Gee! Until I got to the, "...red with white stripe", part - I thought you were referring to yourself! :lol

...I'm headed to my room now, Ed... :frown

Before I go - what's the next 'area' show/cruise you're headed to?

.

I would say the asking price by a reputable dealers (not ebay) is the best indication of that; these are not cars that 15-20% is knocked off in negotiation.

If you can get your wanted color, lower mileage, from a good dealer then you should pull the trigger.

If you want a much lower price; then you will have to give on mileage, condition and get into squirrely dealers or cars.

I actually think Silver / Tungsten is going to be the most iconic GT color.

The production GT show car was silver.

It has a very industrial, mechanical, aeronautical, air-frame look to it; in sun/dusk its great (see above pics).

And I have a "Silver NS !! This is a great thread all you guys that chimed in and especially the breakdown Shelby provided too !

You know, Mr. lonely pockets. You seem to spend a lot of time in your room. Do you care to elaborate ? :eek

and get into squirrely dealers.

Isn't that the truth. I have communicated with one (not a forum supporter) on a particular car (that has a favorite color and low miles) and they are having great difficulty interacting with me in a straightforward manner.

Larry, not much going on right now.....car show wise. Cars and coffee in Redmond every Saturday morning when its not raining. come on down!

'Reflection. Lots & lots of reflection. What were YOU thinking???:slap

Nardo says:<< The only point I disagree is red being the least valuable. It would be next to the bottom...the bottom being white. Whenever I see a white car for sale it never brings "all the money" . They made a lot of white cars as well as red. Red is just a "sports car color"..period. Red Corvettes, red Ferraris...red is just a great color on pretty much any sports car. For anyone interested you shoulddefinitely buy the color you like. Red was my first color choice, the first GT I bought and still remains my favorite.>>

I agree with Nardo (and also agree to disagree with Shelby). Whites seem to sell for the least and take the longest to sell. I would also place Tungsten a little lower on the list than Shelby.

1. Heritage
2. black
3. blue
4. silver
5. yellow
6. tungsten
7. red
8. white

I don't really see how you can disagree with the guy that's physically sold 200 of the cars :lol I mean, you can disagree, but his assessment is rooted in numbers, not opinion. When he says "color X brings X dollars and color y brings y dollars" those are actual sales figures. We were talking about it today, and he gave me the number in thousands of dollars that a white car brings over a red for him, and it's not insignificant. If he wants to disclose it, that's up to him, apparently at his own peril :lol I know he's a used car salesman, but one thing Shelby is not is a b.s-er. He never has goofy prices, never deviates from reality, and generally treats the buying and selling of the cars realistically. I even bought a red car from him!

No one has to agree with me, but my numbers are infact based off actual sales. Everyone is entitled to his or her opinion and I can and always have respected that. I usually try to stay out of these arguements as it does not benefit me and may possibly make some people upset that don't want to agree with me, but as they say, "it is what it is".
further, how you also come up with the statement that tungsten is low on the scale is beyond me. It's always done VERY well for me :)

Personally I would put low mileage Heritage cars lowest on the list. If you have one you are looking to unload, I can be reached at [email protected] and I will make you a reasonable offer :biggrin

HHGT says: <Can our forum un-official and official experts comment and rank the re-sale value of stripeless cars? Heritage off course excluded. I'll start by saying the following; un-officially of course:

1. Blk
2. Blu.
3. Silver
4. Red
5. Yellow
6. Tungsten
7. White>>

The stripeless list by HHGT is interesting too. I think that it is pretty accurate, except stripeless silver might be a little lower.
