Given they are about 9 years old I just replaced the supercharger / PS pump, accessory and oil pump belts.

The top 3 Torx screws of the oil pump cover are a PITA to remove and install. There isn't too much clearance for tools and the threads are quite long. So I made this small tool to spin them on or off once they are broken loose with the short 1/4" drive T30 bit. It is just a T30 bit pushed through a small hole drilled into wood dowel (cut broom handle).

Thanks! I have always put that job off, even while under the car changing oil, because of that clearance issue. Now, where is my wife's broom....?

Thanks for sharing!

I changed the bolts to bolts with a hex head, plenty of never seize and replace. So much easier next time

Great idea (hex bolts).

Always nice to make something useful from random stuff in the garage. Here is an oil pump seal installation tool made from aluminum bar.

I used the torx bit (like the one set in the wood), held by small pair of vice grips, then vice grips will allow you so set depth and angle.

I just don't put the top ones in. I don't think the cover will come off with the others snug. I will put them back in someday. .

You could use a ratcheting closed end wrench and that might be a bit easier.

Unless that ratchet has a very light and smooth ratcheting mechanism it won't click once the screws are broken loose.

Doh! I just bought one.

Here's what I picked up a couple years ago just for this task.

I pull the cover to check the belt every oil change.

The thumb wheel has a very fine ratchet to it.

Works like charm.

Do you have the name of this product or better a website?

I bought it through the local Cornwell Tool guy, but it's not their brand.

Thanks for posting the link.

I bought the FR100 and the HBR3 from tooltopia. I like them both.

The ratchet on the fr100 isn't smooth enough to ratchet on the oil belt cover but is nevertheless is a good tool.
