As many of you know, I recently purchased another GT, this one with a 4.0 whipple accufab tb, exhaust etc. When I picked it up, the CEL was on. When I first drove the car, under load and accleration I thought I heard detonation, so I checked the tune with SCT (Torries tune) and swapped the final dyno tune to the 93 octane tune and cleared the codes. Started the car, almost immediately the cel came back on and still for p0135 and p0155, though car seems to run fine. Called Torrie. He recommended swapping O2 sensors. Received them today and installed them. Cleared CEL and within 30 seconds came back on. I don't have a service manual for the car but in my online reading not specific to GT's but rather a 5.4/4.6 problem is blowing the Oxygen Sensor Heater fuse. Without sounding like a complete idiot, can someone tell me where the fuse would be on this car????
Other suggestions?

thanks

ben

Call Rich or Denis at GTGuys, they'll steer you right!!!!

Ben, there are two fuse panels in the GT. One under the passenger's feet and the other one under the bonnet which you can access once you pull out the liner. I can tell you when I am at home tonight where the O2 fuses are located.

In the interim, did you replace all 4 O2 sensors? If you only replaced 2 are you sure you replaced the upstream O2 sensors? The upstream O2's are closest to the exhaust manifolds and are a little harder to see. The error codes you are getting is from these upstream O2's. While you're at it, make sure you have no melted wires going to these O2's. The factory does a fine job of keeping the wire lengths right but check just in case.

I'm pretty sure it is something very simple and the GT has had no historic problems of blowing through the O2 heater circuit fuses.

I am certain I replaced the upstream O2s though I did not change the rears. The wiring looks great with no evidence of previous splices or repairs. Car has factory "headers" and nothing looks out of the ordinary. Id take it to my local dealership but I am not sure they would be much help........

thanks again

Ben,

Have you found the problem?

Larry

another gt? what color? pics? I have a manual you can borrow.

Ben,

My fileing system needs a small amount of work. I found the mechanical manual and looked up the O2 stuff but no help. Now on to find the electrical manual. And yes you may have them, once I find them.

Soroush. He bought a Black No Stripe. Like Yours! Not quite as fast yet, except it does have a Whipple 4.0
