There has been some chatter in the book thread, so I though I might get a new thread going.

I am seriously considering heading out for this event, can anyone suggest a hotel? Is it even possible to book at this point? Also I would bring the GT, but, not to excited about leaving it outside for a few days.

Any thoughts anyone?? Racelance??
 
Specracer, We drive up from Florida every year and usually stay at one of the Holiday Inns there. Lance can give you better hotel/lodging advice than I can. There is a fairly nice one of the Marriott chains there as well. I think it is residence Inn. This year there is a Friday night cruise through downtown Carlisle so the GT would be great in that. It is a show/event for real Ford guys and is just great. Joey is usually there with all the celebrities for us regular folk to meet. Hope to see you there. Kevin O.
 
Specracr, call Val at Carlisle events and to all Gt owners, she has a couple of rooms aside not sure how many are left.......tell her gtjoey said to call. They usually reserve rooms at the hampton inn and residence inn.......

I go nearly every year. Damn tough to get a hotel close to the Fairgrounds this late but you don't know unless you try.

Less difficult to get a room in/around Harrisburg, about 1/2 hour away using I-81 or PA Rt. 11.

And I know "they're not china dolls" as Dave has been known to say, but I'm still not leaving my GT outside overnight, let alone for a few days.
 
oppps forgot Lee Holman and his whole Holman /Moddy group will be with us.....inside and bringing that 63 galaxie of lorenzo and andretti.:thumbsup

At this year's Ferraris on the Vine in Williamsburg, the theme will be Ford and Ferrari with Lee Holman appearing. Hope this opens.

Ralphie--if you ever want to meet the Woods, I can arrange it--great folks.

The Nardo car and Cp-1 belong together. I personally think they are the two most significant GTs out there in public hands. Carlisle is one great Ford event and they are a huge part of Ford history. I can't wait!
 
This is incredible is news. Having both CP-1 and the Nardo car together at Ford Carlisle will be an amazing event. Throw on top of that the book signing and members from the build team then this is turning out to be one great event ....... I can't wait !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Joey thank you.

And a special thanks to Chris for taking the time to bring out one of the most special GT's. Guys make your hotel reservations soon the rooms fill up fast.

SO after all this excitement.... will there be any covered place for our cars, or should I just leave the GT at home?

Be fun to see Nardo again after driving her for an hour or 2 in Vegas doing track rides.
 
I know we are always joking, and making fun at GTJOEY...........he is the type that can take it, and dish it out too........I have in the past always made some remarks that possibly have made some of us smile while poking fun at him.....and all I can say is GTJOEY has out done himself with this Book, Carlisle, and bringing all this together. I am happy to know you , and an honor to call you my friend.

P.S. As Sonic Blue made it in the final cut of TOWER HEIST, I am happy to report that 1442 made the final cut in the last scene of Warner Bros. remake of ARTHUR.......and YES!!!!!!!!!!...it is a RED CAR.

Hi Guys i will be there. I will have my 09 GT500 KR on display in the Hall of Kings bldg G. It will be the only Canadian car on display in the bldg. I plan on driving down my GT as the KR is being trailered in. Hope to hook up with all my GT brethren while there!!
