Canadian border causing delays?

Has anyone heard if the Canadian border closing is causing delivery delays?

I found the answer:

The border between Canada and the U.S. will close for nonessential travel.

President Donald Trump confirmed the news in a tweet on Wednesday morning. "We will be, by mutual consent, temporarily closing our Northern Border with Canada to non-essential traffic. Trade will not be affected. Details to follow!" Trump tweeted.

"I just spoke to President Trump again this morning and we have agreed that both Canada and the United States will temporarily restrict all nonessential travel across the Canada-U.S. border," Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said in a news conference on Wednesday morning.

Vice President Mike Pence said in a Wednesday briefing the decision was "by mutual consent."

U.S. flights headed to Canada will indeed fly as scheduled, though passengers will face screening, according to the U.S. State Department. Those arriving must self-isolate for 14 days, and anyone exhibiting symptoms won't be allowed to enter Canada.

Will affect visits to MM!?

Yes. No visits at this time. Delivery specialists will no longer be doing orientations starting Friday. Undoubtedly they will come back to the owners for orientation at a later date.

I think we all would consider a trip to Multimatic, "essential", but its not. This is quite a time we are all living in.

It is an essential. Anyone who doesn't get to go now will get to go, most likely, at a later date. We need to get though this crisis first.

PS Social distance is easy to do when you are driving on the back roads.

Here's what I read in the news:

Production at Ford's US, Canadian and Mexican manufacturing facilities will be halted after Thursday evening's shifts through March 30

Do you think MM Niche Vehicles is also affected?

In any case, all these measures are necessary in the current situation as they save some people.

MNV is not included in the above. That said, I would assume the status is up for constant reassessment.

Thanks a lot for your information Dave.

I just hope all MNV employee are safe, some delay in production is nothing compared to health ;)

Let’s count our blessings for us Forum guys who received our cars within the past 3 weeks, and remain optimistic for those still in the pipeline! 😊

A big AMEN to that!

I was thinking the same thing. So many chances for a different outcome if this happened eight months prior. Feeling Very lucky and blessed.

Good for us but bad for the rest of the deliveries scheduled now. In the big picture, its a "high class problem".

The world has been turned on it's head. We stopped non-emergent (elective) surgeries this week. Preparing for the worst, hoping for the best. Conserving medical resources. Auto manufacturers may be producing ventilators. Lay low, keep your loved ones close....but not too close.

"Effective immediately the Ford GT production and deliveries have stopped until further notice due to the current global events."

Bet everyone here have other cars to drive.
Our great Country, USA, has other problems that need to be solved.
Maybe, that should be the focus right now!
