I have used the search button and gotten dizzy looking at sizes etc.

What ARE the best model/size Bridgestone front/rears that will fit the OE BBS wheels? Thanks

Rears: Bridgestone RE050A Potenza Scuderia 345/35R19

Fronts: Bridgestone RE050A Potenza (Porsche N1) 265/40R18

I would recommend Tire Rack. We just installed a set of these and the date codes for the rears were very late 2009 and mid-late 2008 for the fronts. Pretty fresh tires in Tire Rack's inventory.

drummer - I just purchased a CTS-V.... whoa! what a car!!!

Yeah, it is a joy and made in the US. I traded the current model M5 and never looked back.

I think some owners have used 255-40 or 235/45-18 on the front, closer to the oem diameter, and probably helps reduce understeer a bit...

I don't make the recommendations lightly. More width and presumably grippier rears may need a wider tire up front - hence the recommendation for 265. In terms of fitment, we've put them on stock to 1.5" lowered GT's with no issues.

Regarding diameter, they are a whopping 0.02" different than the OEM size - you're not going to get any closer than that.

According to the specs shown on Tireracks Website:

  • The front 265/40R18 Bridgestones are (each) 4 lb. heavier than the stock GY's.
  • The 345 rears are the same weight as stock GY's.
  • 235/45R18 RE050's are the exact size and weight as stock GY's.

You can't go wrong with the 265 and 345 f/r RE050A's. I have a little more negative front camber than stock and the car is very neutral at the limit and still very forgiving and easy to catch just in case you over cook it a little. Have not tried the 275's on the GT but had 275 on 9" (same width as the GT's) rims on another car before and the outside shoulders rolled over the rim too much and wore out very fast under aggressive driving.

Yeah, I deleted my post after realizing there was a good chance I didn't know what I was talking about.

LOL, Centerpunch.... I saw that you deleted at the same time I responded. I ALWAYS respect your opinion. It's your deciseveness to pull the trigger on a purchase that we need to work on :eek LOL, take care, I'm sure glad you stay around here because you add a lot!

Kendall, do you thing the alignment needs to be changed with the Bridgestones? I know She's Got Legs did it, but he has the racing shock set-up as well.

When you buy from Tire Rack, How has you experience with installation been? Also, can someone remind me how to tell the manufactured date?

Look at the TireRack webpage. They have a Q&A area with FAQ that explains it and how they are marked.

The Date Code is usually on the inside of the tire -

No. You will not need to make an alignment change because of the Bridgestones. If you have any kind of abnormal wear of the previous tires, then you SHOULD do the alignment.

As I see it, the currently available tires that will fit the Ford GT's standard and optional BBS wheels (9x18" Front & 11.5x19" Rear are given in the following attachment:

I see on the list that the Pirelli P Zero has sizing like the Bridgestones. Has anyone tried them?

I think the Corsa is the one to get, but pretty much unavailable.

Thanks Kendall, that's what I thought.

Ralphie, very nice list. I don't remember seeing it before.
