I have an S550 and the wife has an ML350 both of which are great cars, with the exception of the excessive Brake Dust on the front wheels only. Within 3 days of driving I cant even see the rim - ridiculous!!!

Any recommendation/quick education as to the different types of ceramic/low dust pads and recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

3 days is very good compared to BMW pads! Just one day of driving the rims are BLACK!

On my wifes BMW (gone) I changed from the OEM pads to Axxis Deluxe Pads. The dust was way down. However the braking isn't the same as OEM, I little more pedal pressure is needed to stop, but no problems to lock up the wheels. For a DD it is OK, but I would have reservations on using a low dust pads on a car driven aggressively. If and when I change the pads on my one and probably last BMW I would consider these again.

Thanks Clinton, I'll look them up.

OEM pads are almost always dusty. Softer pads, good stopping and low rotor wear. Just plain messy for my taste.

Nice folks and very helpful. They do nothing but braking related items.

I've been a customer for over a decade. Race cars and street cars.

Sam after you brought the depreciation of BMW to my attention, I looked into it and was shocked at how fast they FALL. IMO that is due to the included warranty and service expiring and the high cost to service these cars. The general consensus on 7 owners on Bimmerfest is great car, but don't own one out of warranty. That says it all. I am spoiled by the FGT, a car the really holds is value better than any of is contemporaries and is easy to self service and repair, especially with the help can guidance from the exceptional forum members we have on board.

When I looked into getting service information about BMWs, it is almost as bad as Fcars! You need to buy BMW specific computer tools ~25K+ to get a wiring diagram, without which diagnosing problems can be very difficult to impossible.

I don't like getting raped when my cars need repairs!

Hawk street performance or Mintex Red Box are both clean and not noisy. My father has Porterfields recommended for street performance in one of his Porsches that run clean but lack the stopping power of OEM pads.

+1 on the porterfiends, I put them on my GT500 vert.

I put basic ceramic pads on my daughter's C230. Dust has been way less. Also put basic ceramic on my Chevy SS 6.0 pu and hardly any brake dust. And Sam, I agree on the brake dust....I hate it!

EP never has brake dust problems!
