Brake Fluid Replacement and Bleeding Required for Track Day?

I just put on the Brembo racing 2 peice floating sloted rotors for the stock caliper set up .I used Pagids 4-2 dark blue pads which are a bit more of a track pad but still great on the street with out squeel. For the track however I use Pagid Yellows.A totally track only pad ,that squeels like a pig on the street!A real turn off to the wife! I must say the stopping power seems impressive. I just finished the beeding in process. Can't wait to try em on the track!!With the brake ducts and now these rotors and pads ,I think I should be all set!! Do come for a ride in Texas and we will find out how good or not they are .1st rides go to Rich,Dennis, Shadowman!!Thank you all for your help!!

Rocket,

are you aware of the availability of non-drilled or non-slotted rotors made that will fit our cars? A solid rotor is the next item I would like to try if they make a direct replacement for the stock item.

Looks like you're ready to go.

Pete,
These would be the deal for you. The rotors are just slotted. They look very serious.Shadowman was the man in the know who I got them from. They are racing rotors. They feel awesome! As my wife would say ,nice and hard (pedal that is !) and actually look bigger ,but I know they are not .The best part is they work with the stock calipers.

Ed Sims ran these before he switched to the Stillen setup.

No, Ed was running the FRPP rotors before upgrading to the new AP brakes from Stillens. Shadowman has some replaceable aluminum hats rotors. The FRPP rotors don't have any replacement parts.

My bad. Dyslexia must have made me read Ford for Brembo. Thanks for setting it straight Ice.

Pete, what Motive master cylinder cap do you use for the Motive bleeder?

Howard

It looks like I bought the 0107 Ford 3 Tab 2" diameter adapter - Power Bleeder which has the 1107 adapter; I think; and that's the one I use. Unless I am using the 1108 adapter. I have both and cannot be 100% sure, but farily certain.

Check with these folks:

That's where mine was purchased.

Hopes this helps Howard.

Thanks, Pete. The correct adapter must be the 1107. The 1108 is for some GM makes only.

It's done and I can't wait

Brake fluid change and bleeding done this am.

I am at the headquarters hotel, hoping for no rain tomorrow, and ready to go.

A big hats off to super technician Tim Potts at McCafferty Ford in Langhorne, Pa. He did a great job with this work plus a trans fluid change.

Tim really loves these cars, and treats them like they were his own. Does research, including on the Forum to scope out the latest info on a given job.

Well done Tim, and thanks!:thumbsup:thumbsup::biggrin:biggrin:biggrin:banana:banana:banana

Anyone within driving distance should really look Tim up if you are needing/considering doing any work.

I think your car is about to be rained upon. I wondered who's red car that was.

Put my cell phone# under your wiper blade.

If its raining, just park it ! my 02

I might give that advice out as well; but having done 2 days on track at Carolina Motorsports Park early in the year where the temp rose to 39 on Saturday and 42 on Sunday, I can say a whole bunch can be learned on a wet and puddled track. Though not recommended, still fun.
