After paying nearly $6,000 for two sets of the BBS Boss 302R 18" race wheels, I went on a quest to find an alternative for a third set of wheels for the Boss race car to mount race rain tires. After much research I found the TSW Nurburgring RF wheel. It is rotary forged, beautifully constructed and looks nearly identical in design to the BBS (although I think the finish is actually nicer than the BBS). I weighed and test fitted the wheels yesterday and they will work great. Each wheel weighs about 20 pounds. The size I chose was 18X9.5" (1/2 inch narrower than the BBS). With the 63mm offset, they have the same stance as the BBS wheels, and offer more clearance (about 3/8") for the brake cooling ducts. The color is matte gunmetal which didn't photograph as well as they really look, and match the plastic body cladding on the rocker panels nearly identically. For less than $900 for the set, I think I found a winner.

$225 each for forged wheels is an unbelievable deal. $1000 to $1800 a wheel is not uncommon. Thanks Tim.
