Borla/Ford Racing Cat Delete

Been looking to make the car a little (lot) bit louder. I know these haven't been made in ages but any ideas on where to find them? Do I need to just wait until one pops up for sale again here on the forums? Thanks.

Can't help you with the acquisition, but damn it makes a big difference combined with a non-muffler exhaust.

How loud do you want? The loudest is headers, cats delete, and X-pipes. Definitely anti-social.

The original FRP headers and straightpipes are literally painful if you are near by. I love a loud exhaust, but that is way too far (to me).

@B.M.F. has posted that he is making headers for the GT.

Try muffler delete and borla tips on X pipe. Can be powerful sounding yet not obnoxious. Terrifying to Ferraris, vettes and six cylinder cars. And can still cool it when traffic cops are near.

My guy is starting on the headers with in the next couple weeks here.. Just met with him last night and got him the rest of the stuff, I'm starting with 2-3 sets to be built. I have H-pipes to mate up to them for maximum loudness if needed. Headers and Muffler are very quiet still. Headers with mufflers on them and a H or x pipe is about perfect.

My (old) Heffner H-pipe is loud enough for me and most Cars & Coffee crowds.

When I got my GT back in May of 2006, one of the only exhausts available was Ford Racing's Rear Exit Headers. I kept that system on the car for ~3 years before deciding that it was just too loud. I realize that a car enthusiast saying, "it was too loud" is just about as popular as saying "her boobs are too big", but nevertheless I removed the exhaust in favor of Ford Racing Cat Delete pipes and a Heffner exhaust. Thanks to good 'ol California, every 2 years we'd swap the Cat Delete Pipes for the Cats and I typically would leave those on for 6 months or so and then I would want it a little louder and the Cat Delete Pipes would go back on. I'd say that for 90% of owners, keeping the cats and adding a muffler delete X-pipe is the sweet spot for sound and green.

I had the cat delete with borla muffler which was nice no drone compromise until the muffler cracked. Then I transitioned to the cat delete xpipe setup and that was too loud for any reasonable drive. I think if you planning to use it sparingly for short distances/car shows it would be tolerable?

Currently, I have the cats+ GTG Xpipe like most owners and I would echo everyone here that it is wonderful aural experience.

I have long tube headers, cat delete and Ford Racing exhaust with bumper delete (so shorter tips). It doesn't sound loud to me, but my wife and kids say they can hear me coming. I've only heard it from the driver's seat. I eventually need to let someone else do a drive by so I can hear it from the outside....

I have an X pipe on now and was hoping to be somewhere between that and a full header/cat delete setup. Its why I was just trying to find the mid pipes. That feels like it would be the sweet spot for the volume im looking for.

Hey Doug, name the day and I'll meet you half-way in Palatka ... let you hear a drive-by of yours, and you can do mine for me if you will ... then we can have lunch at Corky Bell's on the river (y)

I can build the mid pipes also. I have fixtures for them

Since its a week past Carlisle...at Carlise 10, my wife and I stood behind virtually each/every GT during start-up/idle/acceleration and we selected the one we liked best, walked up to that owner and copied exactly what he had done (Heffner H).
