I am in the market for a BMW M3 , 2008 or newer

Anyone on the forum have one for sale

Anyone on the forum have any comments related to the M3 , good or bad

Thanks

I've had one since April 2008. I think it is a great car! It is my summer daily driver. As it is normally aspirated, tunes don't make much difference, so I did not bother. It is very quiet stock, I changed the exhaust, sounds great, even though I wish I had gone a little louder. Only other changes, performance steering wheel, and short shift. Yes it was the punching bag / benchmark for the Boss, but it still is a wonderful car.

I too think the 2008+ M3's are great cars. We see a lot of them out on the track in hot weather and they are both fast and reliable. Wonderful machines, IMO.

I have a 2008 M3. Love it. It is the car I have had the opportunity to enjoy the most of all cars I have owned. The GT is the car I most appreciate and cherish. The GT is the hands down the best car I have ever owned and probably will own.
The M3 is the car you can drive day in and day out and throw stuff in and take your family with you and still enjoy the driving experience in what ever the manner you wish to drive it in. You can park it and walk away from it knowing no one is going to touch it out of envy or spite. It you get the convertable you get the best of both worlds given its a hard top. Very reliable. Even good in the winter on winter tires. The electromagnetic suspension is fantastic for smoothing out the rougher roads which makes it such a great daily driver yet in sport mode make it a great car to go hard around corners. Go standard. The SMG sucks the big one. Engine is smooth and 400 hp is enough to enjoy with about 16+mpg in full on city driving. Would have no hesitation recommending one.

Thanks guys for the responses , as usual the forum members are a wealth of information

Leased a 2009 for 3 years. The only thing that I would have changed is the transmission. I got the DCT, just to have and try it. It is fast shifting and very fun on mountain roads...but I am a true manual guy. If I want to go from 5th to 3rd or start the car in 2nd grear, I want to do it. Otherwise the car is fantastic. I had the 4 door sedan, blue with silver interior. Put winter tires on it, and it will go most anywhere (not off-roading,. Ha).

Agree on the driving experience, but the E92 M3 ditched the crappy SMG for the much better DCT, which is a decent alternative to a stick in the urban settings many of us commute in. Also, the EDC shocks are adjustable for damping, but they are not electromagnetic, and therefore not as fast reacting as the units in the Corvette/458/R8.

Go 3 pedals, and the UUC shifter
