Just in case any forgot!
It was the highlight of the 2004 Super Bowl to me

How could anyone forget the BEST of the BEST!!!!! but I wish FORD would still do another commercial instead of bailing out, say for the 2026 Ford GT!!

If that doesn't raise your heart rate I sure don't what it would be!! absolutely the best!!

Cool!

I somehow managed to miss that when it aired.

Is that McGowan, or the Stig?

If you look close, there are two quick shots of the head liner which in the early CP and mule cars were
stamped aluminum. Kip told me they opted out on that due to NVH concerns. I've had one in one of my
GTs and I didn't notice any difference at all. cool piece!

Pretty  ~17 years ago now. I wonder if the shots done with helicopter, trailing camera vehicle, camera on tracks and even the big car mounted exterior camera would all be done with a drone now

Isn't there a "making of" topic here somewhere here? Like what car, who was driving, etc? I thought I remembered one but it didn't show up in the quick search.

My favorite line in the making of “The One”
Is when they say, normally the helicopter could keep up to a car but not this one!

Just love that!
If you can't appreciate, might as well be dead........................!

That commercial was all I needed to see or know about the GT to convince me to buy mine.
'Had pretty much decided to buy a Ferrari 360 before I saw Ford's Superbowl commercial. That ad ended any desires I had harboured about buying a 360 on the spot.

Upon my request, Ford sent me a copy of "The One" some time later - and I still have it.

Wow been a while since I've watched 480i video, and notice the interlacing falling apart not keeping up.

Didnt Steve Millen do the driving (been a long time since I have thought about that)?

From a December 2004 Automobile Magazine article comparing the 2005 Ford GT, Lamborghini Murcielago, Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren, and Porsche Carrera GT;

“In sum: The Italian car looks German, the German cars look Italian, and the Ford makes the dead rise up and walk the earth.”

.

I don’t even remember who was playing. But I remember the ad!

....and drone wouldn’t be able to keep up either!😉

Awesome video! Thank you for sharing! Those of us new to the family appreciate you sharing history that we missed.

Perhaps by cutting corners in a major way...or just hovering 'center-track' and simply following the GT with its camera from there.

That’s an excellent quote!
