Are race car drivers athletes ?

I have property on Perdido Key so I know Gulf Shores well...and unless you got a BUNO on that airplane, it was NOT ME!
I think one attribute that you left out...and that I had in spades was naiveté, we didn't know what we could not do. Ps-I'm a RIO (like Goose in Top Gun).

Wasn't worried about any BUNO at the time! Some neighbors were likely looking though.

Certainly a part of courage for many/most includes naïveté which typically lessens with age...and significant injuries.

10-4 on being a RIO. All good for sure.

I race spec Miata and...ran the Boston Marathon today. End of discussion :usa

Frank you need to do a biopsy to check the ratio of fast to slow twitch muscles.

I was active in P'cola from 88-93 and still have my house on Perdido...some day!

All slow twitch. I ran like a turtle...

Congratulations!!!
I ran one marathon when I was 33 (and 165 pounds)...that was enough!

Congrats on Boston Ajai. I ran distance in highschool, college and continue to run today. Moved into Olympic and Half Ironman triathlons. Lets do a couple early morning runs in Vegas! I'll bring my gear.

Anyone that can finish a marathon is doing great in my book. I would be lucky if I could jog 2 miles.

Congrats! I ran Boston '05, then my orthopedist suggested I hang it up if I wanted to die with original hips. Not my best race, but my best experience by far. Hope you enjoyed it.

I knew there had to be another 3 sport athlete amongst these fine gentlemen.

I did a few triathlons in San Diego and along the Gulf Coast (San Destin to New Orleans)/South East including the Bud Light Series and Gatorade Triathlon Series. I ultimately was part of a club (Tortuga Golden Striders)...Motto: "Start slowly and then ease off" (a drinking club with a running problem)

Nice to make your acquaintance Maxemus and Tomcat. Maybe we can get a few of us putting in some early morning miles in Vegas. Hope to meet you guys face to face at the Rally.

If you see Ralphie and I running in Las Vegas please SHOOT the Guy chasing us!

I assume this only applies if it's a guy. Women I can just let them continue to chase. Correct?

If you're getting any early morning anything in Vegas, you're clearly not drinking enough, Vince. Here, let me show you to my friend, Mr. Bourbon.....
