They have a 1500 HP AWD Dyno.. Anyone in for a ride to talk with them and to check out the shop?

Yeah, great guys. Took my Audi (track car) in to use their 4WD dyno. Brian and Dennis will take care of you. A lot of their work is on the 3000GT but they are branching out.

There is a company in the valley that are strictly ford guys...They have done atleast 3 GT's where they did the chip/pulley/exhaust and dyno'd of course.. Nothing but FORD.. its what they know and what they doo. They do all the mustangs and know our block/motor/ configuration etc.....

I spent an hour or so in his shop about a year ago and he seems like a real nice, educated hands on FORD GUY

Muscle Motors, a Forum sponsor (we should support our sponsors anyway), has worked on more GT's than any other independent shop here in Southern California. They have even solved some problems on Ford GT's that the local Ford Dealership's mechanics could not solve, and worked closely with the factory to get them fixed. Basically repaired cars that Ford could not repair, and so respected by Ford that they worked directly with them to get the problems solved. What more could you ask for? In my opinion it seems nuts with such a great resource to me that anyone would go somewhere else. If I lived a thousand miles away, I would ship them my car, and they have had guys do just that. No guesswork. They have a long standing reputation for excellent work, and are THE premier Ford Racing Parts Supplier in the Southwest U.S.

Lessons learned in the past would be to do your own research and go with what you think is best. Gulf Gt.... that's great that you have a strong opinion about your guys at Muscle Motors and its great that they're a sponsor. I will probably search them out for info as well, but to tell someone their nuts to go anywhere else is kinda absurd. Brian at B&D Racing made a strong enough impression on me that I remembered him after meeting him over a year ago.

My opinion would be to search out atleast 5 companies and go with the one you like best. You might want hands on time... going to the shop. You might want 1 on 1 with the owner/mechanic.... or you might want to drop it off and not see it or hear from them until their done.. Either way it will be an educating experience:thumbsup

tmstunts#1233, I offered my opinion of being "nuts" obviously in a "cheeky way". It's just my opinion, based on my extensive research, oh and my I.Q. of 256. :rofl

Gulf, what happened? Why did your I.Q. top out at only 256? Do you have an old 8 bit CPU? Most everyone else is using 32 bit CPUs and some have 64 bit CPUs. The 8 bit ones were used way back in the time of the 8080 and Z80. Most everyone has replaced them.

:lol :rofl I don't know if 256 is good or not. I'm pretty sure I spelled absurd wrong anyway:thumbsup

I know one thing; my wife thinks my I.Q. must be quite low to spend so much time and money on a "car". She thinks I could get "smarter" if I spent more time at the mall buying her gifts, or looking at forums where guys discuss buying gifts for their wives.:confused

On another note, a few weeks ago I was filling up my GT with gas, and a Ford representative was there filling his SUV at the same time. He asked where I was having the car modified and serviced. I told him, and he then handed me his card and told be to go the Ken Grody if I ever needed anything from an authorized Ford Dealer. He said that in his strong personal opinion, they were the authorized dealer to use in Southern California for Ford GT's. I don't feel it's cool to give his name out openly here in the forum, but he wasn't a low man on the totem pole if you know what I mean (if anyone calls me, I'll get the card out and tell you who it is). In that process we talked about many of the Ford dealers here in Southern California. He understood why I would want to go to an outside source for the modifications, but clearly there are also times when an authorized Ford Dealership is the way to go. I've been meaning to post that, and I guess now is a good time and place.

GOOD STUFF TO KNOW!!!

I am bringing my GT to Ken Grody on Monday, for John to work on the half shaft bolts. John is the only guy there that they let work on the GT's.

At the service reception, I was asked to "please move your car up, as none of us are allowed to drive it."

I'd hadn't heard of that, it was kind of funny, since they were serious.

At least they know what it is.

In Carlsbad or Buena Park?
