Dr. Frank,

This statement is to act as my formal acknowledgment of personal fault and error for not being present on the forum and available for you to ridicule at will.

How’s that?:cool

I’m not accustomed to apologizing, but for you my old friend I will comply [just this once].:slap

Now, you owe me a drink !!:cheers

You are welcome.

As for a ride report, here are some initial observations:

Engine runs and sounds like a big V-Twin motorcycle, which it actually is.
Drives and feels like a sports car.
Ride is stable, firm, and comfortable if you enjoy the wind in your face.
Steering is quick and responsive, has a little bump steer effect which just adds to its character.
Has a fair touch of over-steer, rear-end will come around if pushed too hard in a corner.
Turning radius is quite wide.
Engine is 2000cc with a Miata MX-5 transmission and a 90 degree bevel box utilizing straight cut gears [with the typical whine that straight cut gears emit] transferring power to the rear wheel via a belt drive.
Getting in and out is the worst feature it has, for me anyway.
No doors, must "climb" in and out, but once strapped in it feels “right”.
Not built for a quick getaway; you kind ‘a have to “put in on” before you can drive.
No “nanny controls” what so ever.
A raw motoring vehicle.
Will burn rear wheel in the first 3 gears with ease, I’m not kidding.
Not a sophisticated machine; but it is a great “get out and clear your head” ride.
Some quirks I have noticed:
1. Not easy to dodge pot holes and road debris; with 3 wheels where to you go to avoid them?
2. Sits very low so SUV’s, trucks, and some cars can’t see you if beside them; I keep a close eye on those around me when in traffic so as allow room to escape if one starts to turn into me.
Certainly more will become evident as time goes on.

As with the GT, gas stops take forever due to the “what is it?” questions and the obligatory photo “sessions”.
Not a machine for shrinking violets.

One word sums it up - ENCHANTING.

OK Fred Baron, I owe you a drink. And I thought the GT had limited luggage space. do you use saddlebags?

A 2L V-twin? Must give Balzac some good vibrations.

The only bag on this thing is Mrs. Spirit.

WOOPS – What did I just say?

I DID NOT SAY THAT!! - - repeat - - I DID NOT SAY THAT!!

I have a luggage rack, which is specific for the M3W, on order from Morgan.

It will allow as much, if not more, luggage capacity as with the FGT.

So there will be no problem for long distance traveling, other than weather issues.

Only at idle Gary; only at idle.

Spirit looks great, I don't know much about Texas Hill country but I am in it now in San antonio for a meeting
! I don't see any hills? I see some mounds of country side dirt with a lot of scrub oak type trees. :-)

Hills start after you get about 30 to 40 miles out west of downtown S.A.
How long are in town?
If you want to get together send me a pm on how to get a hold of you.

Oh, you mean like a Reliant Robin?

Like a reliant Robin...

'Sure makes a HUGE diff how one divides the steering and 'pushing' duties between the wheels, dunnit.

It does indeed; along with more than a hundred years of experience since they manufactured their first 3 wheeler.
