I just had a look see at the car pics on Marv's site. That's one gorgeous car!!! Dolph, you are correct; it IS an awesome car! I've had quite a few exotics in past years and nothing comes close to the GT. It's a very unique car and when you drive one, it's easy to understand why it's simply unparalleled! That's one of my favorite colors for the GT. Use it well!

No stripe. Expecting delivery any day now.
About to wet my pants lol
Have to look into all these options available as mine is very base model.
Will be sure not to make any mods that cant be undone easily.

Dolph sent a pic via text to my dad Christmas day and it was pretty cool knowing the car got there on time. Anyone who knows shipping cars is never a exact science and you better expect a delay. I knew what Dolph's son was doing and I'm sure the look on his face was priceless when Stan's car got to him. That car is better than new and Stan treats all his car's the right way. Sounds like the car is in great hands. Enjoy it and treat it with respect!!

Congrats Dolph! I wish I knew you were in Northern LA as I drove my GT all around there before the Rally. My family lives in Franklin Parish.

Have fun with a cool car!

Yes, Mike, Wil-Mart is still pumping out those frozen drinks. Any body that went to La Tech knows about Wil-Mart. When did your wife go there? And, yes, the new GT in town (Ruston) is the biggest news in town right now.

I don't know if you know the whole story about Wil-Mart, but for the sake of those that don't, I'll give a short story.

Wil-Mart is a liquor store that is called "The Oasis in the Woods" around here. My parents and I opened the store back in 1977. It is located about 5 miles down a country road. Prefect ride to take to get out of town and in the peace and quiet. We are the first ones to set up a line of 20 frozen drink machines and have all the crazy names you hear. Really, now this is no bulls**t. My mother was the one that came up with all these recipes. Drinking age in Louisiana at that time was 18. It is legal in Louisiana to walk into a liquor store and get a frozen drink and walk out with it. But don't drive drunk. There were times when you couldn't even get in the door from all the "Tech students" buying frozen drinks. At that time, we were using small frozen drink machines made in Italy. Because of the volume we were doing, we needed larger machines. And, of course, the news of what we were doing was spreading FAST.

I was not born into a wealthy family. Quite the contrary. I was not born with a silver spoon in my mouth as they say. When I was born, my dad put a wrench in my hand and taught me how to use it. When I saw we needed larger capacity machines, I designed one and started building it. So, the beginning of Frosty Factory of America.

Move forward about 30 years. Now, we are shipping frozen drink machines pretty well all over the world. If you walk down Bourbon St. in New Orleans, you can see hundreds of them. If you go into a casino in Vegas, you see them. Football stadiums, baseball stadiums, race tracks, Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville, Fat Tuesdays, .......... And it all started at Wil-Mart, "The Oasis in the Woods" about 5 miles down a country road in Ruston, LA. I've been told many times I need to write a book, but I would rather be playing with my cars.

DBK, thank you. I am humbled.

So, go have yourself a frozen margarita and say you helped pay for a Ford GT. lol

Pretty sure your Mrs. and son are really going to enjoy their next birthday presents too!

As a totally objective observer, this is a great idea. :biggrin:biggrin

We videoed the reaction. Literally speechless. Trying to clean up the video of it. He finally managed to form some coherent yells when I cranked it up for him for the first time. After a week of stressing about getting the car here and then him not finding it early, it turned out perfect. I think what gets him the most is that it was stored for almost 2 days in my shop just a few hundred yards from him. That and the fact I got to drive the first 200 miles since I had to go to Lafayette to pick the car up because the only way the hauler could get it here by Christmas was to meet him on I-10.

Dolph,
Awesome Story. Glad to see you found the right car for you. Sorry we did not have it when you stopped by here a couple weeks ago, but it was a pleasure meeting you and your wife. Enjoy that GT. Great looking car and mods! :)

Wow, someone who invented something I see all the time!!! That story is almost cooler than the car :)

I can almost see the delivery to your shop. Something like White Christmas where Danny Kaye tricks General Waverly into being away from the TV. Did they trick you into being away when it was driven into the shop?

Wow what a neat story Dolph. My wife graduated in 1982. I used to fly up in a seaplane to spend the weekend with her and being from Lafayette, had to go there first. She swears there is no better Piña Coloda anywhere. Y'all even had a crawfish boil there one time. Had it not been for Wilmart, I am not sure that long distant relationship would have lasted!! Haha. 29 years later and still remember it well. Congrats again. If you ever road trip it down south give me a heads up. Heck... I might road trip up there just to reminisce. Happy New Year my friend!

I was working in Wil-Mart during her time here. Probably sold her a few Colada 151s. Great drink. And we did have some great crawfish festivals during that time.
