Great article about the NFGT and Harley Cluxton III in the September 9th edition of Auto Week. He's owned some amazing cars!

And, there was an interesting vignette in the story about him racing Le Mans until 1982, when the ACO disqualified his entry for Mario and Michael Andretti 20 minutes before the race start for the placement of its oil cooler (which was in the same place it was when passing prequalifying inspection).

All in all, a fun read. Enjoy!

Speaking of streetable race cars- I can't help but remember our wedding day where we had a police escort through Wichita Falls, driving my Lola t-70 coupe complete with "Just married" lettering and paper streamers!

I have seen Harley on several occasions here in Scottsdale AZ and he always has a good story to tell you.

I got my copy yesterday, and that's the first article I read. Great reading! I've only met him once, but he seams like an interesting guy.

Now that is cool!!!

Very nice article Harley. My Gulf Heritage has over 1500 miles and have enjoyed every one of them. Drove it all week to Car Week in Monterey. Keep it, it keeps you young!

Entertainingly relatable. 😎

Speaking of streetable race (SOUNDING) cars, this guy's laugh cracks me up. They put a $12,000 exhaust onto an old V12 Mercedes. And it's both hilarious and glorious at the same time.
