Dave,
I met you at Marks spring party, I'm the one with the all black (no stripe) FGT. Anyway since I'm retired and live locally I'd be more that willing to help you with Rally 10. Just drop me a note or call 248.872.8248

Just so f..king cool!!!!!!!!
Thanks,
Mark

Thats just plain AWESOME! You lucky bastard! The wife looks smoking hot !

Wow!! Thanks for sharing! Dan Gurney from what I can read a great guy and driver etc. on my bucket list of people to meet. I am envious! Maybe an invite to next years meeting in Detroit! It was the last and only one I could make. But I will definitely be there next year!

This should be "the" Emmy award thread of the year !

Incredible David and wish we could have been there with y'all. The only thing better than this will be seeing Dan at LeMans with the Ford team in June of 2016 for the 50th anniversary of Dan & AJ's overall win. I am marking my calendar now (if it happens).

Great thread. Thanks so much to you and Rex for sharing this.

I love the Henry Ford museum.

+1 Very pretty. She looks like Jennifer Love Hewitt (in that photo, at least. I've never seen her in person).

What a great event to be able to attend. Thanks for sharing!

Great post Dave. Seeing the video and pics brought back great memories of following Ford and Shelby in the 60s. Mr Gurney is well deserving of the award. Looking forward to seeing a video of his interview.

Lucky (for us) that you and Rex were attending this event. A well deserved special tribute to Dan.

Congratulations Mr. Gurney.

What an amazing thread and tribute to Mr. Gurney.

Reminds me of a recent trip to Pebble Beach and the Historic Races a few years back.

I was shooting his old race cars, one with his son in the cockpit, then there he was!

What a great, deserving, honor for Dan and what an opportunity you were given Dave to have been invited to such a prestigious event. Thanks for sharing it with us. Hope to see you in Detroit for the 10th Rally.

Not a bad pair!

When the museum team advised they were going to park these two next to each other, I just had to ask which do you think is the most valuable? Was a lot of fun to watch peoples reaction when you asked them. Lots of responses like: 'good question' and 'well, I dunno' :biggrin

And of course, after watching the entire evening unfold, centered around a certain red car, I had to wonder if Ford marketing made a strategic error in naming the red color Mark IV. Seems that it should have been called something fitting, like, 'heritage'! :wink

Is there a specific deal on how long the 68/69 car is supposed to stay?

That's it Rex. RED rules!

I wonder if it was painted Ferrari Red?

Originally was supposed to be just during absence of the MarkIV, whose re-arrival was significantly extended due to extended timeframe for the conservation project. I'll have to inquire. Would like to see if we can get the '66 winner as a loaner, to complete the set. Not sure if that has been done before.

Ooooohhh that would be off the chart! Please make that happen.
