9 miles!

Unless I'm mistaken, it "happened " in '05 with a brand new '06 in KC.

Dr. Frank has a mind like a steel trap.

Once in there; no escape.:bs :bang :bs

Do you knock down about 30-40% off the value even if it's repaired?

Absolutely. Insurance companies only salvage a car if the damage is 50% or more of the car's value. They hold auctions, and then sell the cars anywhere from 15-40% of retail. The GT requires special techniques and equipment to fix it properly, and I can most likely say that any of these Salvaged GT's are probably not fixed properly. They will probably drive in a straight line for a while, but I sure as hell would not take that car on the track.

I think the time will come when people will pay big money for a salvage GT, but IMO that time ain't now.

Wasn't there a wrecked GT that Pauly Jr. owned from American Chopper?

That car was forsale on e-bay a couple of months ago (wrecked) stating it only needed X-amount of $$$ to be repaired?

This could be it.......repaired!!!

Yes?
No?

Just reread the article on line, read it in the WSJ print version. Articles like this call to everyone's attention (lawmakers, leo's, insurance executives) the super car, muscle car exposure. Makes me shudder after living through the virtual outlawing of American muscle cars. Hate to be negative.

Hate to be negative.

On the positive side, I felt that Jennifer S. wrote a fairly factual article, in contrast to a lot of the garbage and inaccurate articles that we come across, in non-enthusiast papers.

And, the general public should have a better awareness of what it is like to drive an exotic car. If the article informs and keeps unskilled drivers out of high performance cars, then it is not necessarily a bad thing.

Insurance companies are driven by costs, and the less unskilled drivers piloting these and similar vehicles, the less avoidable accidents will hopefully occur...

I spoke with the guy who's selling the car.. he also repaired it and it is the same car that hit the pole. It was a KC based car and it has 14 miles on it now.

fyi to anyone who is interested. I live less than two hours away from the car and will go inspect it for anyone on the forum who might be interested.

The mech that is working on my sinister project said to me basically as long as the car takes one in the middle it can be fixed. on the end of the frame horns and it buckles the frame. Since he repairs and builds alms cars .... I take his word as GOLD.

2 cents worth.
